00:00On the first day, he mostly just wanted to sleep,
00:14but by the second day, he was feeling more active.
00:24He spent maybe two hours running around the house, climbing curtains, we sort of learnt
00:29how to play chase, and he finds his middle name, Chaos.
00:37I am amazed at how much his activity levels have changed.
00:43The baby squirrel knows me now, he's comfortable with me, the house, and our routine.
00:48But a house is no home for a wild animal.
00:52There's been a few moments where he goes to the window and just stops and watches outside.
00:58He needs to be outside, in his outdoor enclosure, which I need to make.
01:04He's a bit nervous.
01:08Welcome outside.
01:09What do you think?
01:12Go on.
01:15Roo has been in his enclosure for 20 minutes.
01:18It's alright Roo.
01:19And he keeps going back to his crate.
01:22I think he wants to go back in the house.
01:24What do you think?
01:26We'll try again tomorrow.
01:28The following day, Roo was feeling much more confident.
01:32Eventually, he does start to like the outside world.
01:38We watch Roo from the house, and he's finally met the wild squirrels.
01:47He's around three months now.
01:48This is the age that his mum would actually start picking him out.
01:53He's definitely ready to be released.
01:55Roo runs around the cage for hours.
01:57Ready?
01:58Welcome to the real world.
01:59What do you want to do?
02:00Let's go through some trees.
02:01There we go.
02:02To Rosie.
02:03I am absolutely astounded by Roo's instinct to make a home in the wild.
02:25Yeah, he's right at the top of this growing tree.
02:33A last peek, and we said goodbye to Roo.
02:38To help him in the wild, we're going to install a feeding station and a dray box.
02:44This might be the last time I see him this autumn.
02:47If it is, have a good autumn, and remember to find food.
02:55That was Roo.
02:58He had incredibly long ear tufts and was a little nervous.
03:05This is the best possible outcome.
03:08Thank you, Roo, for sharing your world with us.
03:11Thank you for this incredible journey we've shared with you.
