00:00All right, Chris, let's turn it to the Wednesday slate out on the ice.
00:06We've got the Bruins squaring off against Chicago, the Blackhawks and for poor old Chicago,
00:11they have really been struggling over the last couple of weeks.
00:13They've dropped four of the last five, they've lost three on the bounce and they just cannot
00:18seem to score.
00:19Does it go in favor of the Bruins tonight?
00:22Yeah, I think so.
00:25I mean, this is a team that has really struggled offensively.
00:28As you mentioned, they made the switch behind the bench, they got rid of Jim Montgomery
00:33and Joe Sacco has taken over a little bit, but I'm not crazy about their offense, right?
00:38They're essentially a one-line team with David Pashnak, Brad Marchand's a little bit older
00:41at this point of his career, but the fact that they are playing the Chicago Blackhawks
00:47and the Blackhawks, listen, they've hung around, they've gotten some decent goaltending from
00:50Morazic this year, Connor Vardar is starting to play a little bit better.
00:54Taylor Hall had the hat trick coming off the significant injury.
00:56So I would lean with the Boston Bruins maybe to take them in regulation tonight, but the
01:01play probably is the under, I don't expect to see a lot of offense in that game.
01:06Nashville and Toronto also going to square up tonight, 7.30 p.m. from Toronto.
01:10This game opened up at the Fanville Sportsbook around a minus 162 price, hasn't moved all
01:14that much here.
01:15And also coming off a difference, I believe Maple Leafs were over a four to one favorite
01:19on Monday night where they picked up the victory over the Blackhawks.
01:22What are we looking at tonight between Nashville and Toronto in Toronto?
01:26Yeah, I really like Matthew Nise to hit the score sheet, pick up a point.
01:29He's got 15, he had 15 goals and 35 points as a rookie last season, or as a sophomore
01:34rather last season.
01:36And we're seeing it this year, 10 goals and 15 points in 22 games, 13 minutes per game
01:40last year, which actually was considered his rookie season.
01:43So we're seeing the leap forward this year, 18 minutes per game, right?
01:48That's a significant jump, five minutes with Craig Berube behind the bench.
01:51He's talked up Matthew Nise this year, and he's got goals in back-to-back games since
01:55missing two games with a concussion, 19 plus minutes in both of those games, three points
01:59total.
02:00He said he's got five points rather in his last seven games.
02:02He's playing with two studs, Austin Matthews and William Nylander.
02:05Matthews has three points in two games since missing nearly a month with an injury.
02:09So I like the Leafs are getting good goal tending, whether it's, you know, Joseph Wall
02:14or Anthony Stolarz, who's, you know, a decent long shot for the Vesna as well.
02:18But both goalies are playing really good hockey at the moment.
02:20The Leafs at home talk about the Predators struggling to put the puck in the net.
02:24So I really do like Toronto and I like Matthew Nise to continue to, you know, hit the score
02:28sheet.
02:29Chris, you've already highlighted a couple of potential teams to watch out for in the
02:34Stanley Cup futures, and we get to see them both squaring off at her in the West Coast
02:38later this afternoon, the Dallas Stars going against the Kings out here in Los Angeles
02:43and looking at the odds makers projects to be the closest game for the Wednesday slate.
02:48Who are you leaning towards?
02:51I like the Dallas Stars on the road here.
02:52They've won three straight, five of seven.
02:55The LA Kings are playing a little bit better lately.
02:57I did mention them as a potential long shot needs some stability between the pipes.
03:01This is something that's really struggled with.
03:03The Kings have struggled really to keep the puck into their net over the past couple of
03:06years.
03:07They, they had a, you know, the past couple of games have been good for them, but there
03:10was a game, I think roughly seven to 10 days ago where they lost 72 to the San Jose Sharks.
03:15Now we talked about Backlund Celebrity and, and the Sharks offense being fine, but a seven
03:20to two loss to the Sharks and the struggles that they have at five and five, look for
03:23Wyatt Johnson to pick up a point, two goals and seven points in his last seven games.
03:27He's got three points in the power play over that span.
03:29He's back up on the top line with rope, a hints and Jason Roberts.
03:32And as I was talking with the stars, Logan, Stan Coven, he's a rookies among the leaders
03:36in points.
03:37You have Wyatt Johnson, who's been their best player in the playoffs over the past couple
03:40of years.
03:41He's just a kid.
03:42Then you have the experience and Matthew Shane and Jamie Ben.
03:46I know Tyler Sagan is going to miss the game tonight, but Matthew Shane, Tyler Sagan, and
03:51Mason March.
03:52One of the better lines this year in the NHL, they're strong in the blue line with mirror
03:55high skin.
03:56And they're great between the pipes.
03:57Jake Ottinger, the Dallas stars have a lot to offer.
03:59They can come at you in waves, get three or four lines that that can score on any given
04:03night.
04:04So like the stars on the road and like Wyatt Johnson to continue to have success.
