00:12Was it sort of serendipity that it's kind of come together, coming out now,
00:16and it's a movie with the cold and the ice and the snow,
00:19or did you think this is a perfect time to scare people?
00:23We didn't know when it would come out,
00:25but when this idea was tossed around I got very excited
00:28and thought it was definitely the right choice.

00:48No, weirdly I actually met Bill before I ever met Alex,
00:53and it just happened that Northman came together before this.
00:57And re-teaming with Willem Dafoe,
00:59what is the sort of secret sauce to your relationship?
01:03The Lighthouse is one of my favourite movies.
01:06He's very reliable, fantastic and interesting and quirky
01:09in every single role he takes.
01:11I'm guessing that's the obvious reason why you keep bringing him back.
01:14Yeah, I mean if one of the best actors who ever lived
01:16wants to work with you, you've got to invite him back.
01:19How lucky am I?
01:20Yeah, well I certainly enjoyed it, mate.
01:22I'm sure lots of people will as well.
01:23Looking forward to see whatever the next one is.
01:25And just very quickly though,
01:27was there any kind of trepidation or nerves for you
01:29when you choose a story that pre-exists?
01:31The first two films are completely different,
01:33but we've known you for creating these worlds around us,
01:37and this was the first time you've stepped in and gone,
01:39you think you know this, this is what I've got to offer.
01:41Yeah, of course, it's very daunting,
01:44and when the film didn't happen for many years,
01:48I thought this was Warnow's ghost saying,
01:51you've got too much hubris, buddy.
01:54So it's something to wrestle with,
01:57and you have to respect the past.
01:59I'll tell you what, it's a perfect pairing,
02:01and I'm sure it's going to do fantastically.
