00:00As a part of their efforts to lower the price of rice in the country,
00:05the House Kinta Committee or the Low-Cost Food Support Committee
00:09has put forward in their next hearing the top rice importers in the country.
00:13According to the overall chair, Joey Salceda,
00:16if the landed price of imported rice will be lowered,
00:20it should be around P36 per kilo.
00:24So they are trying to find out where the problem is to solve it.
00:28Before the end of the year, they will also ask President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
00:34for recommendations on how to lower the price of other foods.
00:38Salceda released the so-called statement
00:41following the new inflation report this November
00:44which was included in the target but could be improved.
00:48On the next Tuesday, December 10,
00:50the second hearing of the House Super Panel will be held.
