00:00The provincial buses from the north and south of the country can now pass through Edsa this holiday season.

00:08After the MMDA allowed their trip together with the expected arrival of passengers,

00:22The MMDA allowed the provincial buses to pass through Edsa this holiday season.

00:28This is followed by the expected arrival of passengers on their way home from their respective provinces.

00:37With the help of the MMDA and the operators of the provincial buses, they allowed them to pass through Edsa.

00:48According to MMDA Chairman Romando Don Artes,

00:51from December 20 to December 25 and January 3, 2025,

00:56the provincial buses will be allowed to pass through Edsa from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

01:02From December 26, 2024 to January 2, 2025, they will be allowed to pass through Edsa the whole day.

01:10By January 4, 2025, the provincial buses will be again prohibited to pass through Edsa.

01:17According to MMDA, if the provincial buses are from the northern areas,

01:23they will only be allowed to pass through Cubao, Quezon City.

01:26If they are from the southern areas, they will be allowed to pass through PITX in Paranaque City

01:32and Terminal in Pasay City.

01:35This is a welcome development for some bus operators.

01:39It's a good thing that we still have alternate routes,

01:44aside from the one we're passing through now, the Skyway from Quezonav or C5, plus this one from Edsa.

01:53For now, some buses are fully booked to go to Bicol and Visayas, even though they are still receiving walk-ins.

01:59Some bus companies have tightened their preparations to ensure the safety of passengers.

02:06There's a drug testing, a random drug testing for the employees.

02:12The buses that we're using, we're checking all of them before we let them run.

02:19Currently, the volume of buses is reaching 464,000.

02:25In Edsa, they are expected to increase this holiday season,

02:28while the average speed of the buses is 18.7 kilometers per hour

02:34and is expected to decrease to 15 kilometers per hour due to traffic.
