00:08This is Eril Signao of PIA Cordillera with the national news.
00:16The National Irrigation Administration will expand the Farming Support Program in 2025
00:22to increase the supply of rice under the new BBM Rice and more machines.
00:29Based on our target, we will be able to increase the supply of rice to the farmers
00:38and increase the population demand.
00:41This program was initiated by the DIA.
00:45We helped them in buying rice, rice husks, and rice husks.
00:52Since the start of the Affordable Rice Program in October,
00:55NIA Kalinga has been able to sell more than 15,000 bags of 29-peso rice.
01:00Most of the rice sold in Cordillera under the BBM Rice Program
01:05is from here in Kalinga, the top rice-producing province in the region.
01:09In order to bring affordable rice closer to the beneficiaries,
01:12NIA is also working with the Mobile Kadiwa of the President in the barangays.

01:26This will help reduce the price.
01:29The priority of the program are senior citizens, persons with disabilities,
01:33indigents, and solo parents who can buy up to 10 kilograms of rice.
01:38This initiative is still part of President Marcos' aspiration
01:42to strengthen the agricultural sector,
01:44promote the livelihood of farmers,
01:47and ensure the food security of the country.
