The owner of the Beach House Cheryl Tchobanian has set out her plans for a refurbished bar area for the Beach House bar on the Blackpool Promenade. The refurbishment will focus mainly on the bar area. The high seating will be replaced with more snug like booths and some of the booths will be raised up on a small platform that is going to be installed before the bar reopens in February.

00:00Hello, my name is Luke Patrick, I'm a reporter for Blackpool Gazette. I'm here to talk to the
00:04owner of the Beach House Bistro and Bar here on Blackpool Promenade about how the Christmas
00:10by the Sea celebrations have impacted trade, how they've managed to keep the beach house
00:15the luxury brand since it opened in 2012, and the new renovation that they are planning in January
00:22of 2025. Hi, I'm Cheryl Trevanyan, I am one of the family owners at Beach House Blackpool,
00:28which is the restaurant bar on the promenade. So, could you tell me a little bit about the
00:37renovation that you have planned for January in 2025? Well, a lot of people will say,
00:42I can't believe they're renovating again, what are we doing? We're always renovating,
00:45we cannot sit back. We see customers come in the venue, we look at them, we feel how they're
00:53enjoying themselves, and we look at ways how we can make that better for them. So we've decided
01:00to renovate our bar area, we're going to make it into a more exclusive dining area, cocktail area,
01:08group area, where people will be more comfortable. So we've kind of looked at, like I said,
01:14looked at what we feel our customers would want us to do here. So yeah, we're doing another little
01:21refurb in our bar area to make it more cosy. So the renovation starts in January, do you know,
01:30do you have an idea of when the bar will be open afterwards? Well, we always close in January
01:35anyway, historically we've always closed for the month of January. Just time out for everybody,
01:42summer's hard, hospitality is a tough industry, so we like to give our staff a four-week
01:50close down where they can go on holiday, they can recharge. So our last day is the 12th of January,
01:58which is the Sunday, and then we'll immediately commence our renovations, which were collectively
02:04putting plans together to embark on the work. We've got a local joiner firm that's doing the
02:12work for us, a local architect that's drawn up the plans for us. So all good, we're all excited,
02:24it's going to be a big countdown because we reopen again on the 12th of February,
02:28so there's a lot to cram in to that four weeks. So yeah, we're up for the challenge.
02:35So, yeah, I think that's it. So you talked about it's going to be like a mob group area,
02:42you said you're going to have like a race section and some booths and stuff? Yes. So you told me a
02:45little bit about what exactly it's going to look like in the bar area? The bar area is going to
02:51look a lot different, it's going to still be available for people to come in just for a drink,
02:57everybody's welcome, but it's going to be more snuggie, it's going to be a bit more
03:02But it's going to be more snuggy, it's going to be warmer, it's going to be more comfortable,
03:09people are going to want to stay longer and they're going to enjoy. We're still going to keep
03:14the elevation so that people can still have a lovely view of the sea, which is predominantly
03:20why most people come to Blackpool, for the sea. So yes, the bar isn't moving, everything's staying
03:30the same, so it's just like a little touch to make that area in what we call the bar area
03:39more comfortable, more casual.
