00:00You mentioned it before, you touched on it in the first segment, Musaev's win over Umolotov.
00:07Umolotov was undefeated.
00:08You know, both these guys came in without a loss on that record.
00:11And Musaev looked great.
00:12You know, Umolotov tried some different things, tried the takedowns, he couldn't really stick,
00:15tried to find his spots.
00:16But, you know, in the end, the power of Musaev is what finished it off, that beautiful setup.
00:21You know, it's one thing to knock a guy out, but when you know what you want to do against
00:25him, when you've kind of read him enough that he fakes the right and then blasts him with
00:28the left and puts him to the mat, that was just a thing of beauty with Fight IQ.
00:33It really was.
00:34Someone like Musaev, he's a really good counter-striker, great takedown defense.
00:37And it's funny, I had a conversation with Big John McCarthy prior to this, and when
00:40him and I were talking about this fight, he goes, a lot of people are going to assume
00:43that Umolotov is a better wrestler.
00:46And he's not.
00:47Really, Musaev is a better wrestler.
00:49And what we've seen out of Umolotov the last few seasons of the PFL with his success is
00:53he either lands that big shot earlier or he's able to out-wrestle everybody.
00:57If he can't do that, what happens?
01:00What is plan C?
01:02The answer?
01:03He doesn't have a plan C. That was why I mentioned when we spoke that I thought Musaev would
01:07get it done here.
01:08Musaev is a very underrated fighter.
01:10People may not just not know who he is.
01:11They should know who he is now because I think this is someone who's one of the, I would
01:14say probably top 10 in the world in this weight class regardless.
01:19Striking just looks so crisp, his takedown defense, such high Fight IQ, patient.
01:24He even smiled a little bit when he won a million dollars and the belt.
01:27So it was nice to see a little bit of personality there.
01:30I'd love to see him next season or even fight for, you know, fight maybe the Bellator champ,
01:35whoever that may be at the time.
01:37I'd like to see some personality out of this guy, though.
01:39They call him the silent assassin.
01:40I get it.
01:41But, you know, crack a smile, make a joke, say something here, Shamil, because this guy
01:46has potential to be a star with his fight style.
01:49Not everyone has to have that Conor McGregor mouthpiece.
01:51You go out there and you're knocking people out, especially high level.
01:54You will get there.
01:55And I think that's someone that the PFL really has in Musaev.
01:59He certainly showed that what a great talent he is, and we'll see what is next for him.
02:03But just ferocity and that fight IQ is something you love to see.
02:06You're not just about like, hey, I can punch you and you can go down, but like, I can know
02:09what you're going to do from what I've done, though, that feel our process.
02:12You learn people don't realize, you know, the actual thoughts that go on behind some
02:15of those strikes, but he showed it there.
02:17You talked earlier about Robotnov and how much of a badass he was against Primus.
02:21He gets the victory, a third round finish for him as well.
02:24You know, he showed the power a number of times, knocking Primus to the mat there in
02:27those three rounds before he gets the finish.
02:29But, you know, a former champ of Primus, a tough guy, and to be able to do what Robotnov
02:35did to him just shows how tough he is.
02:37Yeah, this was just a really bad stylistic match for Brent Primus, but you can't control
02:41it when you're in the season format.
02:43You fight, you got to fight in the finals.
02:44Primus is always, in the season and in his successful career, has been able to wrestle
02:49guys, use his jiu-jitsu, and land a power punch to do it.
02:52He wasn't the better wrestler here.
02:54We talked about this.
02:55If this fight was a stand-up, if he doesn't land that big shot, which he has power, he
02:58was going to lose.
02:59And I will say this, too, about Robotnov, he's going to go back and he's going to watch
03:03his fight.
03:04He's going to be kicking himself in those first couple of rounds because when he dropped
03:06Primus, he went to the ground with him, and I did not understand that.
03:10Finally, he listened to his team when he dropped him, let him back up, and then it was the
03:14beginning and the end that eventually sent him to the shadow realm.
03:17So guys, Robotnov is a very good fighter.
03:21Very few mistakes other than, you know, you don't need to follow Brent Primus to the ground,
03:24give him time to recover, or even let him get his jiu-jitsu game going.
03:28That fight on the feet was all him.
03:30I love Brent Primus.
03:31I thought he had a fantastic season.
03:33Obviously, it was a very tough loss.
03:35I think he'll be back.
03:37Really great fight, and Robotnov, back-to-back knockouts to close out the season for him
03:41was an excellent showing.
03:43Yeah, I agree with you the way he was fighting that earlier, where he was getting that guard
03:46that first round.
03:47I thought, you know, obviously, they probably wouldn't because the refs never do for whatever
03:50reason, but I thought he could have even possibly given Primus that first round because of the
03:54aggression from the back with the sub-taps, but they never seemed to give the credit for
03:58that that it deserves because he kept going from sub-tap to sub-attempt, and, you know,
04:02was kind of the more aggressive fighter for most of that time on the mat.
04:05But either way, the finish in the third is what ends it.
04:08And last off, the big heavyweights, Golsov versus Popov.
04:12You know, big guys, big hands.
04:14You expect maybe to get a grueling battle of guys trying to see who finished each other.
04:19Didn't really take down that leads to a submission for the first time in 17 fights for Golsov.
04:25I'm so happy for Golsov.
04:28As long as I've been in the PFL, we always kept saying, is this his year?
04:31Is this his year?
04:32He really is one of the more well-rounded heavyweights.
04:35He's got a great soundball background, good wrestling, good subs.
04:38On the feed, you saw how lean he looked.
04:40Very athletic, big guy, but for some reason, whenever he got to the finish line, he just
04:44fell short.
04:45And in this one, I did not love how easily he got taken down from Popov, but that submission,
04:49that triangle, very well done.
04:52If he fights Francis Ngannou next, he's got to get his wrestling going because we know
04:55the type of power Francis has, but I'm very happy that Golsov finally got to the finish
05:00line.
05:01Well-deserved.
05:02Great guy.
05:03Great fighter.
