00:00Every little media tidbit of President-elect Donald Trump's youngest son, Barron Trump,
00:05seems to send his fans into a tizzy, and one particular new clip has them going wild over
00:11an aspect of the 18-year-old they've never heard before.
00:14In a 17-second clip from the upcoming second season of the ex-documentary series Art of
00:19the Surge, which has followed Donald Trump's 2024 presidential election campaign, Barron
00:25can be seen on election night talking with Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO Dana White
00:30and some other people just off-screen.
00:33The thing that made some viewers really lose it?
00:35You can hear Barron talk.
00:37Those few polite words elicited responses on ex-formerly Twitter, like,
00:44"'Oh my god, Barron's voice sounds like his dad!'
00:47And
00:48"'This might be the first time we have ever heard Barron speak.'
00:51Historic clip."
00:52To be entirely clear, it's not the first time we've heard Barron Trump talk.
00:57There were plenty of occasions when he was a child where he spoke on TV, and back then
01:01he sounded a lot more like his mom, Melania Trump, than his dad.
01:04A clip of him on Larry King Live from 2010, when he was 4 years old, even proves he had
01:09a bit of an accent resembling his mom's native Slovenian.
01:12"'I like my suitcase.'
01:15"'I have to go to school now.'
01:18In another recently unearthed Entertainment Tonight clip from the year before, an almost
01:233-year-old Barron shared some musical aspirations.
01:25"'Now let's play drum!'
01:28What the commenters on the Art of the Surge clip do seem to have right is that this is
01:32a very rare instance of the public hearing Barron's speaking voice in recent years.
01:37While he attended some occasional events during Donald's first term in office as president,
01:42he did so silently.
01:44And until the 2024 campaign, he was almost totally absent from the public eye since his
01:49dad left office in 2021.
01:51Unlike his siblings or his 17-year-old niece, Kai Trump, Barron didn't speak at the 2024
01:57Republican National Convention, nor did he give any remarks at any of his dad's rallies
02:01during the campaign, though numerous reports have dug into Barron's involvement during
02:06election season.
02:07ABC News referred to him as his father's unofficial podcast advisor, securing Donald's spots on
02:13the podcasts of Aiden Ross, Theo Vaughn, and quite a few others.
02:17There's an old adage in entertainment to leave them wanting more, and whether intentional
02:22or not, Barron Trump has been doing that for years now.
02:25Small glimpses of him walking to and from Marine One with his parents or at events at
02:29Mar-a-Lago have created a sort of air of mystery around the president-elect's only child with
02:35Melania.
02:36Donald sort of summed it all up in the Art of the Surge clip.
02:39I gave him a shout-out last night, the place went crazy."
02:45By largely keeping himself out of the spotlight and only appearing every once in a while,
02:49looking seemingly a few inches taller every time, Barron has created a truly rabid fanbase
02:55that eats up his every move.
02:57The smallest clips — like the one where Barron can be seen sitting next to his dad
03:01and Elon Musk dancing at Thanksgiving dinner at Mar-a-Lago — generates hundreds, if not
03:06thousands of comments, many of them speculating about Barron's future.
03:10It's unclear whether Barron will follow his dad into business, reality TV, or politics.
03:16But one thing has become clear — there's a large group of people who will follow him
03:20into whatever he does.
