04:05The PHE department built the well in 1980.
04:09The PHE department built the well in 1980.
04:13The JJM repaired the well.
04:17The JJM repaired the well.
04:21I am very thankful to the JJM and the government.
04:24When did you first come to know that there is such a facility in the village?
04:28When the JJM was launched,
04:31we started a toboooth survey for all villages.
04:34We started a tobooooth survey for all villages.
04:38As a result of this survey, we observed,
04:42and with the water committee,
04:46that there is a Dirkwel which is 150 to 200 years old.
04:50That is closed since last 50 years.
04:54The elders used to say that the water of this dug well was very good when we used to get it.
05:00So when the department did the planning, it was also kept for revival in the project.
05:05So this work was a little difficult because it was an old design dug well.
05:11Its depth was also more.
05:13And the biggest thing was that it was closed for the last 50 years.
05:16Because it was closed for the last 50 years, people threw garbage in it.
05:23So it was a little difficult to redevelop it.
05:27After its revival, today we are using about 60,000 to 80,000 gallons of water daily.
05:38About 1,500 to 2,000 people are being supplied with water daily.
05:45And people say that the revival of this dug well is like a boon for us.
05:54Because it has a religious connection with this water.
05:57They consider it like nectar.
05:59They also call it Ganga water.
06:01So today they are getting it in supply.
06:04So people are very happy with this.
06:08And today the water supply problem in that area is almost over.
06:13Look, JJM is a very good scheme of the central government.
06:17As you said yourself, there are instances where the water source is running out.
06:24So this has proved to be a big boon for them.
06:27And as you added, I went to a village during the election, which is quite far.
06:33The people there also appreciated it a lot.
06:35The water supply there improved because of it.
06:38So different initiatives are going on in this.
06:41We are reviewing it periodically.
06:43Even during the elections, I kept reviewing their progress.
06:49Because water, electricity, roads are the most important.
06:52And water is such that it is your basic need.
06:55Whether it is food or something else, you need water.
06:58So I give priority to all three.
07:01So that's why we have a lot of rain-fed area here.
07:06So these are the issues of drinking water.
07:08If we can solve this problem with this scheme, it will be very good.
07:13Because of this, recently we saw that some people were facing problems
07:19in digging wells or laying down pipes.
07:22So our revenue officers made some personal interventions.
07:25And they were able to dispose of it.
07:30So we will try to complete our schemes as soon as possible
07:37and put them in the service of people.
