00:00Jack is a big reason why part of my story and the perception of me turned around, if it did at all.
00:08It is in part because of the music that he helped bring out in me.

00:16It kind of diminished a little bit over those 10 years before I met him.
00:22And most of all, I'm grateful for him, for his example that he gave me in his marriage to Margaret.

00:33And he's a big reason why I waited so long to get married and why I met my amazing husband.
00:40And I really feel like there's kind of a singer's curse around meeting an honest partner who has no skin in the game, no dog in the race.
00:55And it's super nerve-wracking to have to kind of hold on to an innocent perception of how things could go
01:04when you're in an industry where maybe your values and your morals don't quite match up with what's going on.
01:11Especially when people think that you probably don't have any morals or values.
01:16So it can get all twisted up.
01:19So Jack, thank you so much for maybe helping other people
01:25look at me in a way that is a little bit closer to how I perceive myself.
01:31Freud would say that that's very important, considering 30% of how you feel about yourself is what you hear other people say about you.
01:41Regardless of whether you care or not, that's just true.
