00:10PBOXX does not rule out the possibility that the situation in Vulcan Canlaon may have worsened

00:15following the eruption yesterday.

00:17According to PBOXX Director Teresito Bacolcol,

00:20this is stronger than the eruption in June this year and even in the past years.

00:25We are not yet sure if it has calmed down because we are on alert level 3 and anything.

00:30We may expect these things to escalate in the next few weeks.

00:34But of course, we are hoping that it won't.

00:36But we would expect that the possibility that this would escalate further is always there.

00:41Based on the ground deformation instrument, PBOXX,

00:44there was an eruption above the volcano.

00:47Along with the volcano that erupted yesterday,

00:50a pyroclastic density current of PDC

00:53is what caused the volcanic ash, volcanic gases, and volcanic fragments below the volcano.

00:59It is dangerous because it reached a speed of 100 km per hour

01:03that reached a distance of 3.5 km from the crater of the volcano

01:08that entered the 4 km danger zone of Canlaon.

01:12But that's the reason why we are raising the alert level

01:15because this may recur, this may happen again,

01:18again in the next few weeks.

01:21And it may be even stronger.

01:23So it will reach, it will exceed the 4 km permanent danger zone.

01:27If there is an escalation of activities,

01:29we may extend the alert, the danger zone from 6 to say 8 or probably 10.

01:35The Office of the Civil Defense, Western Visayas,

01:38continues to assist those affected by the eruption of the volcano.

01:42According to OCD Region 6 Director Raul Hernandez,

01:45their assessment of the affected local authorities continues.

01:49DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian is pleased.

01:52The Task Force Canlaon and the Interagency Coordinating Cell

01:55also took the lead in addressing the needs of the residents of DND and OCD.

02:01The evacuation of the residents of the 6 km danger zone has also been confirmed.

02:06We have evacuated the majority of our fellow citizens

02:10who are inside the 6 km radius.

02:13There are only a few remaining

02:16because we are still lacking an evacuation center.

02:20So for now, that is what we will look for

02:22on how we can evacuate our fellow citizens properly.

02:29The OCD is ready for the 6 km danger zone.

02:43we already have initial plans for that.

02:46We already have people who are willing to adapt to the evacuations of the affected people.

02:55Meanwhile, Philippine Coast Guard ships are also on standby in Iloilo City

03:00that may be used to distribute family dens and mineral water to the Blacks in the Occidental.

03:07DSWD also assured that it will receive immediate help

03:11from the families affected by the eruption of the volcano Canlaon.

03:15According to DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian,

03:18the way to supply food, water, and other necessities to the evacuees

03:24is in accordance with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

03:27According to DSWD,

03:29more than 2,000 families from 14 barangays were affected by the eruption of Volcano Canlaon.

03:361,172 families are staying in 13 evacuation centers.

03:42DSWD also distributed P620,000 in aid that includes non-food and food items.
