00:00A guy that kind of blends the NFL and right now the college ranks is a guy you might not
00:09expect to be interviewing for head coaching vacancies in the ACC.
00:15That is Bill Belichick.
00:17And I don't know why anybody believed that Bill Belichick was about to hop on national
00:22television on the Pat McAfee show yesterday, formerly of the Spiz Grizz Network, and tell
00:28how he actually felt about the North Carolina job opening.
00:32But this is what he said, quote, he's had a couple of good conversations and we'll see
00:38how it goes.
00:40This could be an interesting part, though.
00:42Belichick says, quote, it seems like college football is more like pro football, end quote.
00:48And Joe, if there is any realistic possibility of Belichick taking the college job at North
00:54Carolina, some people have said, why would he ever want to do that?
00:58This guy is going to recruit.
01:00This guy is going to be on the grind like we see in this sport.
01:04The college football of the present is not like the college football of the past, even
01:09within the last five years.
01:11And Belichick was basically the GM and front office exec who was ruthless in New England
01:18and oftentimes not all that great in managing free agent acquisitions.
01:24Yeah, I listen, North Carolina, I you better have you better have a lot of safe spaces
01:30there, Ben, because Belichick coming on campus and dealing with kids and NIL money and everything
01:36else along those lines.
01:37Yeah, that that feels like a lawsuit waiting to happen here.
01:42But he also said, Ben, that there is there no NFL teams have reached out.
01:48There has not been any sort of communication.
01:51I mean, we know he was supposed to be the head coach of Atlanta, wasn't he?
01:54Then Atlanta was like, yeah, no, we're going with Raheem Morris.
01:57So if Belichick is really wants to coach and really wants to be in football and no NFL
02:04team, you know, nothing comes to fruition there.
02:08I guess it makes sense to have something like North Carolina in your back pocket if coaching
02:14is really what it's all about for him.
02:16And maybe it is.
02:17Maybe he's turned a page and said, you know what, maybe go back to the roots, go back
02:21to the kids and see how it goes.
