00:00Morning. Welcome to the latest weather update.
00:02And if you're watching this on YouTube,
00:04don't forget to hit subscribe.
00:06The weather today is pretty similar to yesterday's weather,
00:09starting very cold and frosty across Scotland
00:11and Northern Ireland and some dense patches of fog here,
00:14which are going to linger all day.
00:16It's dry for the majority, but we do have a few showers
00:18just dribbling in on the northeasterly breeze
00:21across the southeast and a few more of them
00:23just moving along the south coast of England
00:24through the day today.
00:26So you may get caught out by a shower here.
00:28Bit of wet weather across Shetland as well.
00:30That'll slowly peter out through this afternoon.
00:33Again, nothing too heavy, just a bit damp and drizzly.
00:35For the vast majority, it is dry.
00:37For most of England and Wales, it's just cloudy and dry.
00:40The wind's a little lighter than yesterday.
00:42Light winds across Scotland, plenty of sunshine here
00:45and for Northern Ireland,
00:47as long as you haven't got that fog,
00:49because that fog is thick in places this morning, very dense.
00:53Be aware of that if you are heading out on the roads
00:55and it's so thick, it may last all day.
00:57And if it does, if you're stuck in fog all day,
00:59temperatures are not going to get above freezing.
01:01These will be the top values,
01:03even where we see some sunshine, only four or five Celsius.
01:05England and Wales, technically a little milder,
01:08sixes and sevens, but it'll still feel pretty chilly,
01:12I suspect, due to the fairly thick blanket of cloud,
01:15particularly with this breeze continuing
01:16along the south coast.
01:18That'll slowly ease further overnight.
01:21The fog is likely to thicken up again
01:23pretty quickly this evening,
01:25particularly across southwest Scotland,
01:27but again, parts of Northern Ireland.
01:28The rain edging away from Shetland, however,
01:31so again, for the vast majority, it's a dry night,
01:33but through the early hours,
01:35thickening cloud over eastern parts
01:37is likely to bring some rain and drizzle back in here.
01:40Temperatures again with the cloud holding up above freezing
01:43where it's clear, well below freezing across Scotland.
01:47Minus three, minus four, that's towns and cities.
01:49Some sheltered glens, much, much lower than that.
01:51So again, a fairly hard frost and again, some fog around,
01:55which will again in parts of southwest Scotland
01:58last for most of the day.
01:59But again, much of Scotland away from the fog
02:01will be dry and sunny,
02:02perhaps a bit cloudier for Northern Ireland.
02:04Thicker cloud for England and Wales.
02:06That cloud is going to be at times
02:08producing rain and drizzle.
02:09So a dank, dreary, pretty dismal kind of day
02:12for quite a good chunk of England.
02:15Some of that rain and drizzle into parts of Wales
02:17at times too.
02:17Much of the south, I suspect, will be dry,
02:19but still gloomy and still cold.
02:21Even the temperatures a degree or so higher maybe
02:23with that thicker cloud, not feeling very pleasant at all.
02:27And even with some sunshine across Scotland,
02:28low single digits at best.
02:31And again, if that fog sticks,
02:33we're not going to get much above freezing.
02:35So not much happening over the next couple of days.
02:37We will see a bit more of a change
02:39as we head towards the weekend.
