00:31is one of the main wishes of the people of Pagasa Island.

00:34But other residents, like children,

00:36have a simple request before Christmas.

00:50while Pagasa Island is near the West Philippine Sea

00:53was not intercepted by the Bureau of Fisheries

00:56and Aquatic Resources.

00:57They have an important mission this day,

01:00to bring Christmas gifts to residents of Pagasa.

01:04There are bags, school supplies, toys, and food

01:07for more than 100 students.

01:09The gift of Bifar will be given

01:13to residents of Pagasa Island and those who are here

01:16to show the importance of the agency

01:19to those who live here,

01:20especially to the children,

01:22who will be the future of this island.

01:25Some supplies, instructional materials,

01:28and sports equipment were brought to their schools.

01:32And every unit that is in charge and oversees our island

01:36has a Noche Buena package.

01:37This island is not only a symbol of hope,

01:41it is also a symbol of courage and strength

01:45that serves as an inspiration and an example

01:48to each and every one of us.

01:50The island coordinator of Pagasa is very grateful

01:54for the gifts they brought,

01:56especially since they are far from the mainland

01:58and it is hard to find a place to buy.

02:01Some residents are asking for help this Christmas.

02:04We would like to help by providing additional classrooms,

02:09additional instructional materials

02:12for our students.

02:15We would like to have our own

02:17permaminting Wi-Fi here on the island.

02:20But more than that,

02:21some are asking for one more thing.

02:23Our wish in China is that they will stop harassing us

02:26because they know and the whole world knows

02:29that this island is in the Philippines.

02:31About China, I wish that they won't stop harassing us

02:35when we are traveling.

02:37They will chase us.

02:43Mel, BFAR has more missions in the West Philippine Sea,

02:46especially to the fishermen.
