00:00Our intention is to just place a detainer on him once we secure extradition and send
00:18him to New York.
00:19We do not intend to delay this defendant's extradition to New York and we certainly,
00:27we've indicated this to New York, their prosecution should take precedence and then ours will
00:32follow.
00:33So, certainly, our office will communicate with the Manhattan District Attorney's Office
00:39and each of us communicate with our respective state-level governments and it's the state-level
00:46governments that work with each other, execute the governor's warrant, which sometimes can
00:52take approximately 30 days, plus or minus a little bit.
00:56I will say that those wheels have already started moving in this case, so I'm hopeful
01:00we can get that accomplished quickly.
01:03The Blair County charges are still active.
01:05We intend on prosecuting them, but we also intend on cooperating with the New York City
01:11Police Department and the Manhattan DA's office.
01:14We've already indicated to them that we believe their charges take precedence and we'll do
01:19what's necessary to accommodate their prosecution first.
01:22This defendant now has two dockets in Blair County.
01:25One docket will go away once he is extradited and that is his fugitive from justice charge
01:31and the judge denied bail on that until, obviously, the judge makes a ruling on any defense motions
01:37at which time we anticipate the state of New York will be able to collect the defendant.
