00:00Dr. Mahathir Mohamad has hit back at three former ministers in his cabinet who said they
00:06had no opportunity to speak on the Batu Puteh issue when he raised it during a 2018 cabinet
00:11meeting.
00:12Mahathir said he found it perplexing that the reason given by the trio was that they
00:17were only informed of his decision.
00:20He questioned whether informing others of an issue meant it could not be debated.
00:25The former Prime Minister said he recalled that Dr. Wan Aziza Wan Ismail, Lok Siu Fook
00:30and Mohamad Sabu agreed with his views.
00:34Earlier today, the trio said they were merely informed of Mahathir's decision not to proceed
00:38with the application to review the 2008 ICJ ruling on Batu Puteh.
00:43The trio also said there was no room for any decision making as Mahathir had already done
00:48so in writing.
00:51Earlier this week, the Royal Commission of Inquiry said Singapore was informed of Mahathir's
00:55decision at 9 a.m. on May 23, 2018, 30 minutes before the cabinet met at 9.30 a.m.
