Children and parents in Folly Hill got a glimpse of a special guest from the North Pole as he arrived in town on his sleigh.
The Herald joined Santa’s Sleigh and the Farnham Round Table volunteers to spread joy and collect donations for the Farnham Food Bank.
Volunteers got into the Christmas spirit after finishing their day jobs as they waved, danced and wished everyone a Merry Christmas as generous donations were received in their buckets.
Children in Folly Hill lined the streets and peeked out of their bedroom windows to get a glimpse and a wave from Santa.
In just one evening on Wednesday, December 12 they raised £666.73 including £6.77 from online donations but they also received a few interesting items in their buckets.
Various currencies were donated including Euros, US cents, Portuguese Escudo, a 1966 sixpence, Isle of Man pounds and Scottish pounds.
All donations but one will be donated to the Farnham food bank as one child handed the Round Table a Christmas letter which the group passed directly to Santa.
Santa’s Sleigh will take six routes around Farnham this year raising £600-£800 per route for the Farnham Food Bank.

The Farnham Round Table wants to spread the joy throughout Farnham with more routes next year but needs your help to do it.
Volunteer Daniel Gee said “Think we should do more routes? We’d love to - but need more volunteers! Come along to one of our socials, have a few beers and a laugh, and see if the round table is for you!”
