00:00Andrew Peakes. Thank you Mr Speaker, Tewkesbury Lido is one of the jewels in the crown of our city.
00:06Now just two years ago we had a hydrotherapy pool and an indoor pool as well as the Lido,
00:11but due to the reckless behaviour of the previous Conservative administration,
00:14the hydrotherapy pool was bulldozed and the indoor pool closed. The Lido is now at risk
00:20in future years. Can I ask my Honourable Friend if she will ensure the Government recognise the
00:26vital role of swimming for leisure, sport and well-being? And if she'll join me in
00:30congratulating the thousands of residents, including myself, who are rallying behind
00:34keeping our Lido safe. Well absolutely, I want to join him in saying the importance of our indoor
00:41and outdoor pools and the importance of swimming to a healthy society, to our agenda for preventative
00:50public health as well. It's absolutely vital that we keep local Lido's like his alive and
00:55I know he'll also have a very strong ally in the Secretary of State for Energy and Net Zero.
