00:00You know, when I think about house building versus not house building, I always actually
00:06think of the weight of emails that I have in my inbox from young people who are unable
00:11to move out from their parents because they're trying to get on the housing ladder.
00:15Or they're a couple and they're living in rented, they've got decent jobs, either a
00:18teacher and a nurse maybe, and they're living in rented accommodation but they can't afford
00:21to buy a house.
00:22Like, we have a housing crisis in this country, so yeah, we would like to keep everything
00:28the same, with beautiful countryside and all the rest of it, but the reality is that we
00:33have a housing crisis and people are increasingly being shut out, not only of the housing market
00:39but it trickles into the rental market and puts up prices there, puts some pressure on
00:42social housing market, you know, right through the housing market we have a problem.
00:47And so we do need to build more houses.
