00:00Worldwide boxing fans can't wait to see the match that will take place this December 24 in Tokyo, Japan

00:10after the undisputed title defense of the pound for pound star and Japanese monster Oya Inoue

00:18faced off against the mandatory challenger Sam Goodman of Australia

00:22after Goodman suffered an injury above his left eye that he suffered in a sparring session a few weeks before the match against Inoue

00:31Because of this, the match was officially rescheduled to take place on January 24 of next year

00:40In Goodman's Instagram post, he shared what happened and how he suffered the so-called injury before the match

00:52I was having my last spa before we flew out to Tokyo

00:57and by freak accident, just, you know, got a

01:02got a, yeah, freak accident, got cut, resulting in four stitches

01:08and if I had it my way, I'd like to proceed with the fight, but taking on a guy like this, my team

01:14my team, I wouldn't have the same team in my corner, let me go into this fight compromised

01:20In Goodman's Instagram video post, he shared his sadness about what happened

01:25where he asked for condolences to all supporters and is waiting for his opponent, Inoue

01:32I'm absolutely devastated to be doing this, but it is what it is

01:39I just wanted to say sorry to everyone who was coming over

01:44I didn't know how hard it was to make that decision and to come over and support me, especially this time of year

01:51and sorry to everyone over in Japan who was all so excited for this fight

01:57Aside from this, he also asked for condolences on behalf of his opponent, Inoue

02:01something that he didn't want to happen

02:04because he has been dreaming of winning the World Championship title for a long time

02:11To Inoue and his team as well, I know they would have been preparing hard for a good fight

02:16I just don't want my opportunity to go anywhere, I want to fight this guy

02:20It's been a 14 week camp and this has been the last 15 years of my life

02:26and everything I've ever done to get into this position and to take this guy on

02:32I just want the chance to have a cracker against him for all those belts and to get it on

02:40Hopefully we can get it on sooner rather than later once he's cut his heels off and make this fight happen

02:46For now, there is one more month to rest and for Goodman to fully recover

02:51to continue their fierce fight with the undisputed World Super Bantamweight Champion, Inoue
