Just four kilometres from Papua New Guinea - but still in Australian territory - one man has started a coffee shop at one the most northern parts of the Torres Strait. On Saibai Island, coffee is best served with a view of the shores of our northern neighbour.

00:00Sometimes, when you're on the road, it can be hard to find coffee, but here on Saivai
00:11Island, nine degrees south of the equator, we think we've found Australia's most northern
00:16coffee.
00:17Let's grab one.
00:20One of the dongas on the island here that accommodated the police and the border force,
00:26they had a booster machine there, so that interested me to do a coffee gig here.
00:34Mostly the locals like the hazelnut beans, so they usually go out really fast.
00:40They're really interested, you know, in something different and boost you up in the morning
00:45and your day's going to be really good.
00:48When it's turned on, then everybody knows that the coffee's operating.
00:53It's a small community.
00:55People will send that message word by mouth.
00:59Okay, enjoy.
01:00Well, I'm trying to target the wider community, customers that work from Monday to Fridays,
01:07also the pilots that come in for private charters.
01:12Saivai is, geographically, it's four kilometres to the PNG coastline and the sea line, so
01:20it's a good site for them to come and relax and people can sort of be fascinated about
01:25the location.
01:26Come and enjoy the coffee in the most northern part of Australia.
01:31Enjoy it on Saivai Island.
