00:00100% of residents in the 6-kilometer radius permanent danger zone were evacuated while remaining on alert level 3 and there is a risk of rising to alert level 4 due to the situation in Vulcan Canlaon.
00:15This is Elijah Dalipin of PIA Western Visayas with the national news.
00:21100% of residents in the 6-kilometer radius permanent danger zone were evacuated while remaining on alert level 3 and there is a risk of rising to alert level 4 due to the situation in Vulcan Canlaon.
00:36This was confirmed by the Office of Civil Defense 6 Regional Director and Task Force Canlaon Head Raul Fernandez after the remaining members of indigenous people in Canlaon City were evacuated.
00:49Even though indigenous people were evacuated, this is one of the reasons why residents do not want to leave their places.
00:58To ensure that they will not return to the 6-kilometer radius permanent danger zone, local governments have implemented road closures that are strictly monitored by the authorities.
01:11As a result of our implementation of new human activity inside the 6-kilometer, we have established several checkpoints in different locations.
01:24Those checkpoints are being manned by PLB personnel specifically along the national roads connecting Castiliana and Canlaon City.
01:33So we have rerouting there.
01:36Meanwhile, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources continues to monitor the air quality in affected areas.
01:45According to the latest investigation, the air quality in Araal Station, La Carlota City, and Goodnaman in La Castiliana Station is fair.
01:55The evacuation centers in La Castiliana and Baguio City have a fair rating while La Carlota City has been elevated to a good level.
02:05Nothing was exposed and the air quality is still safe.
02:10Authorities continue to monitor the health of the evacuees.
02:18From PIA Western Visayas, Elijah Dalipe for Balitang Pambansa.
