00:00The Canlaon City Government has already prepared their other barangays

00:04to serve as evacuation centers for refugees

00:08due to the eruption of Volcano Canlaon.

00:10This is what Vell Custodio reported.

00:14Due to the rise of volcanic activities and the possible eruption of Volcano Canlaon,

00:19the LGU carried out a forced evacuation of those within the 6-kilometer danger zone.

00:25This is in relation to the national guidelines

00:30that since Cebu has raised the alert status of Volcano Canlaon to alert level 3

00:36and this indicates increased volcanic unrest

00:39and potential eruption within the coming days or weeks.

00:43That is why we forced evacuation.

00:45According to the Canlaon City Public Information Office,

00:48the evacuation of the 5 barangays near Volcano Canlaon is ongoing.

00:53More than 4,200 individuals have been evacuated

00:56near the 6-kilometer radius of the volcano.

01:00But according to the Canlaon City Government,

01:03if ever there is a need to force evacuate all of the 5 barangays,

01:07up to 23,000 individuals will need to be evacuated.

01:11That is why the Canlaon City Government has already prepared

01:14the remaining 7 barangays to serve as evacuation centers.

01:18More than 1.4 million family food packs have been prepositioned

01:22for the Canlaon affected families in Region 6 and 7.

01:25While more than 4.39 million relief goods

01:29were distributed by the DSWD to all local government units

01:34affected by the eruption of Mount Canlaon.

01:37The DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian personally visited the Negros yesterday

01:42to assist the local government unit

01:44and look at the situation of the affected areas

01:47and assess the additional support that the agency will provide.

01:51The DSWD also prioritized the distribution of more than

01:53P590,000 worth family food packs to the Canlaon affected families.

01:59Following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s request,

02:02he looked at the situation of the evacuees and provided immediate assistance.

02:07A medical service is also expected at the evacuation center.

02:11Meanwhile, according to the Canlaon City PIO,

02:14the weather is gloomy and there is heavy rain in Canlaon City,

02:18which is why it is possible for a scene eruption

02:20and lahar or muddy stream flow to the affected areas.

02:24The local government is suspending all social gatherings in Canlaon City

02:29for this December.

02:31The Canlaon City Government has a call.

02:33To all of our fellow citizens who are inside Region 6's permanent danger zone,

02:41we highly encourage you to evacuate

02:46as soon as possible to our evacuation centers

02:50since this is for their own good.
