00:00Some LGUs have already reached Canloon City.
00:04In fact, a medical mission will be conducted today.
00:08The center of the news is brought to you by Jesse Atienzar, PTV Cebu Live.
00:16Yes, Naomi, we are here at the Akhmad Center of Canloon City in the province of Negros Oriental.
00:23Earlier, we were greeted by the mayor of the town of Lalibertad,
00:28who is just a neighbor of Canloon City.
00:31This is under the leadership of Mayor Emanuel Limcaychong Iwai.
00:35Earlier, they were distributing medicines and vitamins for internally displaced persons.
00:41In our interview earlier, he said that they will conduct a medical mission today at the evacuation centers
00:49because they were informed that some of the IDPs have been evacuated.
00:52According to the latest LGO of Canloon City, more than 5,000 individuals have already been evacuated
00:59and are now staying at 8 evacuation centers.
01:03Let's first listen to our interview with Mayor Emanuel Limcaychong Iwai.
01:09Well, we're neighbors.
01:12In Canloon and Lalibertad, we're neighbors.
01:13We should help out our neighbors.
01:15And then when I found out that they really needed help here in Canloon,
01:18that's why we initiated this program here.
01:20I spoke to Dr. Elmer Elbales, the city health officer here,
01:23and he told me that he needed doctors because the number of doctors here in Canloon is not enough.
01:28So that's why we're organizing this.
01:30We brought about seven doctors coming from Siliman University Medical School
01:33and then also the doctor from Lalibertad.
01:36And we also brought medicines here so we can give medicines to those who need them in the camps.
01:41As of now, disaster teams are still on standby and alert.
01:46The LGO of Canloon City and the personnel of DSWD Bonsod
01:52were able to re-open the abo of Volcano Canloon at 4 p.m. yesterday.
01:58That's why everyone is on standby.
02:00And there's another concern of the people here, the sudden change of weather.
02:06Sometimes it's cold, sometimes it's raining, sometimes the weather is hot.
02:10That's why they're also monitoring the health of everyone here.
02:15And those are the latest news from Canloon City in the province of Negros Oriental.
02:20Back to you, John, in the studio.
02:23Thank you very much and take care, John.
02:25Jesse Atienza.
