00:00What's the future of Liverpool?
00:03Well looking at Liverpool and 2024 as a whole, and obviously a bit of a strange year. It
00:08started with fantastic form and obviously there was a bit of that dip with Jurgen Klopp
00:14and near the end of the season where the title race just sort of ran a bit dry for them.
00:19In terms of standout players across the calendar year, who sort of makes that category? Obviously
00:25Mo Salah has hit some incredible numbers once again, albeit his future in the balance and
00:30they've had some fantastic results along the way as well. Who sort of stood out in a squad
00:35level that maybe performed under Klopp and then also made a fantastic adjustment under
00:40Arnish Slott as well? Who stands out there?
00:43Yeah, Mo Salah's a funny one because he spent a fair bit of time injured last season after
00:49coming back from the African Cup of Nations and then he couldn't quite get going. I mean
00:54remember he was having an argument with Jurgen Klopp on the touchline. So if you look at
01:00the whole calendar year, have there been better players? And you could argue for how good
01:05he's been this season, the house being a mean base, Van Dijk's been imperious for a long
01:10time now. He's just back to his best levels. I think Alexis McAllister maybe has gone a
01:21little bit under-raced as he really started coming to the fore towards the end of last
01:26season when he started playing a little bit further up the pitch, started getting goals
01:30and assists and he's been a key cog in Arnish Slott's side. He's been a regular. Tactically
01:39he has to be quite savvy because sometimes he has to drop a little bit deeper and play
01:43alongside Graham Burke in the No. 6. Sometimes he has to choose when to go and play a little
01:48bit further up. So I think those two. Conor Bradley has excelled. He was fantastic while Trent
01:55Alexander-Arnold was out injured last season and has carried on his momentum this campaign
02:02as has an awful lot of opportunities. But his performance against Real Madrid in the Champions
02:07League, it was barnstorming the way his tackle against Kylian Mbappe will be remembered for
02:15a long time. And Kevin Keller, you've got to give a lot of credit to him. He's come
02:20in twice while Alisson Beck has been injured. He was fantastic last season, helped Liverpool
02:26win the Carabao Cup again and he's been as good as you could have hoped for while Alisson's
02:35been out this campaign. So yeah, I'd say Mo Salah has been fantastic this season but I
02:42think maybe people just forget about towards the end of last season
02:46with some people maybe were saying, well, should we cash in on him now? But
02:51yeah, I'd say Van Dijk and McAllister too, but special mentions to Bradley and Keller.
