Heartwarming video shows some of the adorable Dogs Trust rescue dogs got to dress in festive outfits and tuck in to a Christmas 'Treataway' dinner - courtesy of Ring.

Hundreds of dog-friendly Christmas dinners are being delivered to Dogs Trust shelters today and over the coming week, to support the kind-hearted people who voluntarily foster dogs in a time of need over Christmas.

Adam Clowes, Operations Director at Dogs Trust emplores Brits to get involved with Ring’s Christmas Treataways campaign to support foster carers, saying: “By growing our foster network we can find homes for dogs more quickly without having to build more kennels. This partnership with Ring helps us support our foster carers to learn more about these dogs and hopefully find them their forever home as quickly as possible.”

00:00We're getting thousands of calls every month for owners who can't look after their dogs
00:03and we just don't have enough kennel capacity, so by growing our foster network
00:08we can find homes for dogs more quickly without having to build new kennels.
00:13And this partnership with Wink helps us support our foster carers to learn more about those dogs
00:17and then hopefully find them their forever home as quickly as possible.
00:21But it also comes with an amazing dog-friendly Christmas dinner.
00:26It comes with a Yorkshire Pording, it comes with a little Christmas dessert treat
00:30and it comes with an eggnog so that our dogs can have the best Christmas they can
00:35and enjoy the same Christmas treats that we have but without any of the health risks
00:39because they're all dog friendly.
00:40I love dogs, I do think in most cases I prefer dogs over people
00:45but it is a full-time commitment, it is like having a child.
00:48They aren't going to fend for themselves, I can't go out and go wherever I want to go
00:52but fostering a dog means I can take it in, give it that best fresh start in most of the cases
00:58and pass it on to a home where it's loving and it's in the right situation
01:01hopefully for the rest of its life.
01:03Every dog deserves to be spoiled.
01:06They all do because at the end of the day the stuff the dogs do for us
01:11they give us so much unconditional love.
01:15The foster carers, they give so much to help those dogs get all that love.
01:22They deserve to get something in return.
