Before Usher performed his three-night sold-out show in his hometown of Atlanta, he made a very special trip to the place that sparked his creativity: The Boys & Girls Club.
Usher celebrated the conclusion of his impactful 100-day Social Impact Tour with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Joseph B. Whitehead Boys & Girls Club in Atlanta, “The Spark Lab and Entertainment Industry Club” for youth. This initiative is part of his commitment to empowering young people through meaningful opportunities and workforce development.

00:00Happy that the work that I put in has led me to become an inspiration to so many people.
00:12This isn't just about the lab behind us. It isn't just about going to some great concerts.
00:17What happens behind the scenes is really the magic where young people learn what professions,
00:22what careers, what job opportunities there are in this entire big industry around entertainment.
00:28And for that alone, 5,000 young people already this year have gained that experience thanks
00:33to Usher and Usher's New Look Foundation. I mean, it's very exciting. I give it a 10.
00:39Like, it gives you better opportunities. You can't ask kids to aspire for excellence if you
00:44don't show them what excellence is. And that's why, you know, I know Usher and Usher's New Look
00:50was so thoughtful about, first of all, where we put it, and then second of all,
00:55how it looked, and making sure that the equipment was top of the line, making sure that,
01:00you know, it inspired youth when they literally walked into the space.
01:04Yeah, so you're in Southeast Atlanta that has, that's been historically disinvested. What we
01:10know is that young people will rise to the expectations that we have of them, and a safe
01:13space like this allows young people to see opportunities, to be able to come into a space
01:19like this, and to have their creative juices flowing. So for me, I championed the city,
01:25being raised by an entire village. My mother's, my mother, my grandmother's,
01:31grandfather, my father wasn't there. Nonetheless, nobody else would keep me.
01:39But the Boys and Girls Club welcomed me with open arms, and it was a motivational place for me to be.
01:49you
