00:25This illusion is known as a hybrid image, and it happens because we are blending the

00:29low spatial frequencies of one picture with the high spatial frequencies of another.

00:35So depending on your viewpoint, you see two different images.

00:39Put simply, all the fine lines in this image are from Ed Sheeran.

00:43But when those thin contours disappear, we see the blurred big picture, which is Gaga.

00:50The same effect happens here.

02:35I mean, if we pause the image, the silhouette can either look like the dino's head is closest

02:41to us or like it's further away, looking backwards.

03:36moving exactly the same way, your whole perception changes.

03:41It looks like the pairs have suddenly formed a whole new pattern.

03:45Instead of orbiting pairs, it now seems like you're watching two big, intersecting circles

03:50of spheres, pulsing and shifting around each other in a hypnotic dance.

03:56Here are three cars lined up in a row.

03:59Can you tell which one looks bigger?

04:01Car number 1, number 2, or number 3?

04:06If you picked number 3, you're not alone.

04:08It does look bigger than the others, but actually, that's not correct.

04:12The answer isn't number 2 or number 3 either, because all three cars are exactly the same

04:22This is an illusion created by the angle of the image, which totally throws off our sense

04:26of perspective.

04:27When something is closer to us, it appears bigger.

04:30So when we see an image like this, our brains assume the cars farther back must be smaller.

04:36And if there's something in the photo that makes it look like things are getting farther

04:40away, like the road in this case, it adds to the effect, making our brains think, wait,

04:47if that car isn't shrinking, it must be huge!

04:50But no, it's just an optical illusion.

05:00At first glance, it looks like a regular 3D cube.

05:04But the more you stare, the more things don't add up.

05:07The corners and edges twist in ways that are totally illogical.

05:12Some lines seem to go in front, while others slip behind, creating a shape that could never

05:16actually exist in real life.

05:22On the left side, the two plates seem to align horizontally, but when you shift your gaze

05:26to the right, the plates suddenly look like they're aligned vertically, as if the pink

05:31one is higher than the blue one.

05:34It's all about tricking your brain into thinking it's looking at a solid, possible object,

05:39when in reality, these impossible images break all the rules of geometry!
