00:00I think this Stormbird's trying to bite my head off.
00:03That f***ing Stormbird needs to get at the back of the line.
00:06Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the products and services
00:10we bid goodbye in 2024.
00:13Cherry and vanilla Coke had always been sold separately, even though data shows people
00:17often mix the two.
00:19Now you don't have to do that.
00:22Number 10.
00:23Concord.
00:24I am glad you avoided a dishonorable death.
00:28Almost dying is the best way to learn how not to die.
00:31Or something.
00:32There's a new elephant in the room at Sony, and its name is Concord.
00:35Perhaps no game has ever flopped as hard as this one, which was envisioned as an ambitious
00:39sci-fi PvP multiplayer shooter set in a richly immersive universe.
00:43We're the free-hunter crew of the North Star.
00:48And together, we're going to make our mark on this galaxy.
00:53Despite high hopes, Concord's release was extremely underwhelming, both financially
00:57and critically, drawing in only 700 simultaneous players on Steam and selling a measly 25,000
01:03copies.
01:04As such, Sony chose to shut Concord down less than two weeks after the game's launch, which
01:08translated to $400 million flushed down the tube.
01:12Farewell Concord.
01:13We hardly knew ye.
01:14That was not the plan.
01:16Technically it was a plan, it just wasn't the same plan that we started.
01:19Number 9.
01:20Various Airlines.
01:22Breaking news for you this morning, Spirit Airlines has filed for bankruptcy.
01:262024 marked a turbulent year for aviation.
01:28Not only have major airlines, most notably Spirit, admitted to massive fallbacks and
01:32losses, but smaller carriers from outside the U.S. such as FlyEgypt, FlyArna, JetAir
01:37Caribbean and HumoAir have been forced to ground their fleets for good.
01:41Ever since I was a kid, I've been in the middle.
01:44The middle is all I've ever known.
01:46But with a blocked middle seat on Spirit, I'm not in the middle, I'm in the window.
01:51So what exactly is going on up there?
01:52A lot of changes and uncertainty in the realm of economics and sustainability from rising
01:57fuel expenses and interest rates to labor costs and intensified competition.
02:01Though new players may eventually rise, 2024's airline casualties have reshaped air travel
02:06as we know it.
02:07Great.
02:08You know what's great?
02:09Air travel.
02:10I've flown a lot.
02:11A lot of airplane stories.
02:13Number 8.
02:14Mini Clubman.
02:15Look, why don't we pool our money together and buy one of those nice, cute little Mini
02:18Coopers?
02:19Maybe a Mini Cooper.
02:21After some 17 years on the road, the Mini Clubman took its final bow in February 2024.
02:26First introduced in 2007, this quirky and versatile wagon became a standout in Mini's
02:31lineup, offering a unique blend of retro styling and practicality.
02:35Known for its distinctive split rear doors and compact charm, the Clubman carved out
02:39a niche for drivers who wanted more space without sacrificing the iconic Mini aesthetic.
02:43However, the Clubman was never a massive commercial success, which led the BMW Group to discontinue
02:48its production.
02:49Nevertheless, its legacy endures, and drivers will undoubtedly miss this car's distinctive
02:53charm and unexpected practicality.
02:55You got a bunch of cars in there, right?
02:58Mini Coopers?
02:59Look, look, man.
03:00Hey, hey.
03:01Don't worry about them.
03:02I'll give you five grand if you put me inside that car.
03:04Number 7.
03:05Google Podcasts.
03:06My, uh, favorite podcast just dropped a new episode tonight, and...
03:17What does Bo have in his mouth?
03:19I don't know.
03:21The powerhouse Google brand and the booming podcast industry seem like a natural pairing,
03:25right?
03:26Apparently not.
03:27Launched in 2018, Google Podcasts aimed to provide a streamlined platform for discovering
03:31and listening to podcasts, complete with integration into Google Assistant and Search.
03:35But the platform struggled to compete with giants like Spotify and Apple Podcasts, while
03:40YouTube's popularity as a podcasting hub continued to rise.
03:43As a result, Google shut down the app in 2024, opting to consolidate its audio content
03:48under the YouTube brand and redirecting users to YouTube Music.
03:51This decision marked the end of a brief but notable chapter in Google's history.
03:55Podcasts?
03:56Phew.
03:57Flashing the band wannabe journalism.
03:59Mark my words, Jerry, nobody cares.
04:01Number 6.
04:02Nintendo Network.
04:03Now that you're born again, what do you want to do?
04:04Statue of Liberty to entertain some ladies?
04:08Broadway tics to seduce some women?
04:10Play Nintendo?
04:11Bone some jigs?
04:12What's Nintendo?
04:13In 2024, Nintendo bid farewell to the Nintendo Network, a significant change for its online
04:21gaming services.
04:22Introduced in 2012, the platform provided players with access to functionalities for
04:26the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, and was a popular avenue for multiplayer gaming, digital downloads,
04:32and online communities like Miiverse.
04:34Miiverse is an online gaming community on Wii U, where people of all ages can discuss,
04:38share, and learn more about the video games they love.
04:41But with the rise of the Nintendo Switch and its dedicated Nintendo Switch Online service,
04:45the Nintendo Network became increasingly obsolete.
04:48Fans of older systems might mourn the loss of this gateway to nostalgic titles, but the
04:52move underscores Nintendo's commitment to its modern gaming ecosystem.
04:55Will you play Nintendo with me?
04:56I can't think of anybody I'd rather play Nintendo with.
05:01Number 5.
05:02Coca-Cola Cherry Vanilla.
05:03Well, Coca-Cola just announced that they're releasing a new flavor combo, Cherry Vanilla
05:07Coke.
05:08According to news for soda fans, 2024 saw a few changes in the world of this leading
05:12beverage brand.
05:13Not only have they axed Diet Coke with Splenda, but Coca-Cola has done away with their Cherry
05:17Vanilla flavor.
05:21This combo hit stores in 2020 after the company learned how many people loved getting creative
05:25with concoctions at Coca-Cola Freestyle machines.
05:28Although you can't buy a bottle of Cherry Vanilla Coke at the grocery store anymore,
05:32you'll still be able to find the variety on one of those fun Freestyle machines, and
05:35if you feel so inclined, you can throw in other flavors, too.
05:39Five guys, anyone?
05:44Number 4.
05:45PlayStation VR Adapter for PlayStation 5.
05:53Introduced in 2016, PlayStation's original VR headset brought immersive gaming to a wider
05:58audience, offering hands-on experiences on the PS4 and later on the PS5 through the use
06:02of a free adapter.
06:03However, as Sony adjusts its focus to the more advanced PlayStation VR 2, the older
06:08system has been left behind.
06:21As of November 2024, the company has discontinued the free adapter program.
06:25While the original PSVR revolutionized affordable VR gaming, this move underscores Sony's commitment
06:30to its next-generation hardware and the evolution of virtual reality technology.
06:34Let's face it, the writing has been on the wall since the PSVR 2's debut.
06:41Number 3.
06:42Freeform App If you're a fan of shows like Pretty Little
06:54Liars and Grown-ish, you may have noticed a major change in 2024.
06:58In August, Disney discontinued the Freeform app, along with other TV Everywhere services
07:03like the ABC, Disney Now, and National Geographic TV apps.
07:12The Freeform app once provided a convenient way for viewers to catch up on episodes and
07:16access exclusive content.
07:18Its closure reflects Disney's shift toward consolidating its offerings under paid platforms,
07:23though viewers can still enjoy Freeform shows on Hulu, YouTube TV, and other streaming services.
07:28In the evolving landscape of streaming, convenience comes at a price.
07:32Number 2.
07:33Google's Universal Analytics 360 An enterprise-level tool used to track web
07:42traffic, Google Analytics is the most widely used service of its kind.
07:45It plays a vital role in the daily lives of website owners, marketers, and a plethora
07:49of other professionals.
07:51In keeping with the corporation's commitment to staying one step ahead of the latest trends,
07:55Google Analytics has undergone many updates since its 2005 inception.
08:02Its newest platform, GA4, Google Analytics 4, reigns supreme as of 2024, boasting more
08:07robust features for cross-platform tracking and compliance with stricter data privacy
08:12laws.
08:13Out with the old Universal Analytics, in with the new GA4.
08:20Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
08:23Jaguar XF.
08:24This luxury sedan is driven off into the sunset.
08:36Fruit Stripe.
08:37Generations of chewing have come to a halt.
08:44But Fruit Stripe gum is officially no more.
08:46Ferrara, which makes the gum, says it has made the difficult decision to discontinue
08:51the brand.
08:52Costco's Patio Potato Chips.
08:53Thanks to a fire, these snacks are history.
09:00Raspberry Rally Girl Scout Cookies.
09:02Don't worry, Thin Mints are staying.
09:13Costco Food Court Churros.
09:14Sigh.
09:15This one just hurts.

09:48AirPods 2 and 3.
10:00Since their launch in 2016, Apple's AirPods have consistently dominated the wireless earbud
10:05market.
10:06Their success can be attributed to spectacular ease of use, top-notch sound quality, reliable
10:10battery life, and features like automatic pairing and hands-free Siri usage.
10:22But this is the age of technology, and even the best products are eventually swapped out
10:26for newer models.
10:272024 saw the discontinuation of the second and third generation AirPods, paving the way
10:31for AirPods 4.
10:33These improved earbuds are developed to fit more comfortably in the ear and come with
10:37a more compact case.
10:38Plus, a slightly more expensive version features active noise cancellation.
10:42Happy listening!
10:48Which of these do you miss the most?
10:50Let's reminisce in the comments.
10:51Oh, how I miss them.
