Fox News Hosts RIP APART Alejandro Mayorkas
Transcript
00:00Well, nobody's, as far as I know, I haven't seen him.
00:03He has no answers.
00:04And you're exactly right.
00:06Here we are still waiting for the first assassination attempt.
00:09And you go back to Kennedy days, we still don't even know what happened with the Kennedys,
00:12quite frankly.
00:13But Mayorkas needs to step up and do his job instead of going hiding.
00:18And that's basically what he's done.
00:19And people want to hear the answer.
00:21And we need to know the answers.
00:22Let me move on, get your take on this.
00:24The House Republicans are set to question Small Business Administration head Isabel
00:27Guzman today over alleged efforts to register voters in Democrat-heavy areas of Michigan.
00:33The House Small Business Committee has since demanded information like documents, travel
00:38schedules of top agency officials.
00:40But you say you're being stonewalled.
00:42What exactly is going on there in Michigan, sir?
00:44In the wake of two shocking assassination attempts on former President Donald Trump,
00:49a storm of criticism has erupted from Fox News hosts and Republican lawmakers with Department
00:55of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas at its epicenter.
01:00The airwaves are crackling with frustration, anger and demands for accountability, painting
01:05a picture of a department head seemingly adrift in a sea of crises.
01:09The narrative begins with a scathing indictment from Congressman James Comer, who sets the
01:14stage for the barrage of criticism to follow.
01:17Well, we had a hearing this week just to highlight the failures of the Biden-Harris administration.
01:23And when you look at record high inflation, the crisis at the Southern border and chaos
01:27on the international scene, like we've never seen before, you look at all the people that
01:32have worked in the Biden-Harris administration, Mayorkas stands out as the worst of the worst.
01:38And the fact that this is a continuation, if you vote for Harris for president, this
01:43is a continuation of the failed Biden-Harris policies and nothing's been a bigger failure
01:48than what Mayorkas has done on the Southern border.
01:50And you add into the fact that he's in charge of FEMA and he's in charge of the Secret Service.
01:55I mean, everything Mayorkas touches has been a problem and it's been a problem for the
01:59American people.
02:00Comer's words echo like a thunderclap across the political landscape, reverberating through
02:05the halls of Congress and the studios of Fox News.
02:08His statement is not just a critique, it's a comprehensive indictment of Mayorkas leadership
02:14across multiple fronts by linking Mayorkas to broader failures of the Biden-Harris administration.
02:20Comer elevates the criticism from a personal attack to a systemic issue, suggesting that
02:26Mayorkas failures are symptomatic of a larger problem within the current government.
02:31As the dust settles from Comer's opening salvo, the focus shifts to the most pressing concern,
02:37the safety of political figures, particularly former President Trump.
02:41The recent assassination attempts have thrown the spotlight on the Secret Service, which
02:45falls under Mayorkas' purview.
02:48The questions are numerous, but the answers are frustratingly scarce.
02:52This frustration is eloquently articulated by Congressman Jim Jordan.
02:56Well, I mean, I think the first takeaway is he talked about deficiencies.
03:00I mean, yeah, the President of the United States got shot in the head, Corey Comper
03:05Torrey lost his life, and two other Americans were injured.
03:08Of course there's deficiencies and complacencies, I think is the words that he used.
03:13And then he talked about some paradigm shift that's taking place.
03:16Well, it seems to me the paradigm shift should have taken place before Sunday, before the
03:19attack or the attempted assassination attempt on President Trump down in Palm Beach.
03:23So I don't know if there's a whole lot of confidence here in what's going on.
03:27The agents, the president is right, I think, to to commend the agents who have been working
03:31hard for him.
03:33We understand that.
03:34But like so many of these agencies in D.C., it's not the guys on the ground, it's the
03:37people at the top of the problem.
03:39And speaking of the people at the top, where's Mayorkas?
03:42We haven't heard.
03:43We've heard one word from him since the attempted assassination attempt on President Trump this
03:47past weekend.
03:48Where's he?
03:49After all, Secret Service is part of Homeland Security.
03:52What is this guy doing?
03:53Jordan's statement underscores the gravity of the situation, while simultaneously highlighting
03:58what he perceives as an inadequate response from leadership.
04:02His rhetorical question about Mayorkas' whereabouts becomes a powerful refrain, echoing throughout
04:08the ongoing narrative of criticism.
04:10As the story unfolds, the criticism of Mayorkas extends beyond his handling of the assassination
04:16attempt.
04:17The ongoing crisis at the southern border, a perennial hot-button issue, is woven into
04:22the tapestry of discontent.
04:24Mayorkas, as the face of the administration's border policies, bears the brunt of the criticism
04:30for what many Republicans view as a catastrophic failure of immigration enforcement.
04:35The chorus of disapproval grows louder with each passing day, each unanswered question.
04:40The absence of clear, decisive communication from Mayorkas himself only serves to fuel
04:45the fire of discontent.
04:48This vacuum of leadership is perhaps most eloquently articulated by Larry Kudlow, whose
04:53frustration is palpable.
04:54Now, at that point last Sunday, there was no presidential level protection on the golf
05:00course.
05:01Now, this Tuesday evening, this past Tuesday afternoon, at a Politico event, DHS Secretary
05:09Mayorkas issued an incredible word salad that frankly seems to dodge any clarity on
05:16this subject at all.
05:17And I'll just go through it.
05:19The Secret Service, quote, has indeed enhanced the former president's security posture so
05:25that he is receiving a level of security commensurate with the fact that he's a former president
05:33and on the campaign trail.
05:35And so his alignment with the security posture of our president is, in fact, quite approximate.
05:44How can you, in fact, quite approximate?
05:48You're either in or you're out.
05:49I don't see any clarity here.
05:51What is he talking about?
05:53And by the way, why hasn't Mayorkas made any official appearances at all?
05:57The guy is nowhere to be found, whether it's Secret Service protection or the catastrophe
06:02at the U.S. southern border or anything.
06:04Where is Mayorkas?
06:06Kudlow's critique cuts to the heart of the matter, the perceived lack of clarity and
06:11straightforward communication from Mayorkas.
06:13The phrase word salad is particularly damning, suggesting a deliberate obfuscation rather
06:19than a genuine attempt to address concerns.
06:22Kudlow's breakdown of Mayorkas' statement highlights the frustration many feel with what
06:26they perceive as evasive and unclear communication from a key government official during a time
06:32of crisis.
06:33As the days pass and the criticism mounts, the calls for accountability grow louder.
06:38The narrative shifts from mere frustration to demands for concrete action.
06:43Congressman Mike Garcia, his voice tinged with determination, lays out the path forward.
06:48Yeah, yeah, we all know that.
06:50We all know all roads lead to Mayorkas here.
06:53We have brought him in for the border.
06:54We've brought him in for other homeland security issues.
06:57He's going to come in.
06:58He's going to testify.
07:00He's not going to bring in right answers.
07:02He's not going to bring in an understanding of root cause analysis to this point.
07:07I think having the operators come in and explain to us real time what they saw, the middle
07:15management folks expressing where the gaps are and what the needs are, this is where
07:19we're going to learn the most.
07:21And the accountability of Mayorkas comes when this election is over, frankly, and he's either
07:29out of a job or we investigate him with President Trump in the White House.
07:34He's not going to, squeezing Mayorkas more is a fool's errand at this point on things
07:38like this.
07:39Garcia's words paint a picture of a man on borrowed time, a leader whose explanations
07:44have worn thin.
07:45The phrase, all roads lead to Mayorkas, is particularly telling, positioning the secretary
07:51as the nexus of all that's gone wrong in homeland security.
07:55However, Garcia's statement also suggests a strategic approach to the issue, acknowledging
08:00that immediate pressure on Mayorkas may not yield results, and instead focusing on a longer
08:06term approach to accountability.
08:09As the narrative progresses, the criticism of Mayorkas becomes a lens through which broader
08:14issues are examined.
08:15The perceived failures in leadership at DHS are linked to wider concerns about national
08:21security, immigration policy, and the overall competence of the current administration.
08:26The story takes on a new dimension as it intersects with the ongoing presidential campaign.
08:31The assassination attempts on Trump are not just a security issue, they're a political
08:36powder keg.
08:38Questions arise about the fairness of protection for different candidates, the potential impact
08:43on the electoral process, and the ability of the government to ensure a safe and secure
08:48election.
08:49In this charged atmosphere, every word, every action or inaction from Mayorkas is scrutinized.
08:55His attempts at explanation are dissected, his absence is noted, his leadership questioned
09:00at every turn.
09:01The narrative becomes one of a man under siege, a department in disarray, and a nation left
09:07wondering about its security.
09:09As the days turn into weeks, the story shows no signs of abating.
09:13New revelations, new criticisms, and new demands for accountability emerge with regularity.
09:19Mayorkas, whether present or absent, remains at the center of the storm, a lightning rod
09:25for criticism from across the political spectrum.
09:28The narrative that emerges is one of a department head seemingly overwhelmed by the magnitude
09:33of the challenges facing him.
09:34From border security to the protection of political figures, from cyber security to
09:39disaster response, the breadth of DHS responsibilities is staggering.
09:44And at every turn, in the eyes of his critics, Mayorkas seems to be falling short.
09:49Yet, as the criticism mounts, questions begin to arise about the fairness of placing all
09:54the blame on one man.
09:57Some voices, albeit quieter ones, begin to ask whether Mayorkas is being set up as a
10:02scapegoat for broader systemic issues.
10:04Is he truly the architect of these failures, or is he merely the public face of a more
10:09complex set of problems?
10:11These questions, however, do little to stem the tide of criticism.
10:15The narrative of Mayorkas as a failed leader, as the worst of the worst in the Biden administration,
10:21continues to gain traction.
10:22It becomes a rallying cry for those opposed to the current administration's policies,
10:28a shorthand for all that they see as wrong with the current approach to homeland security.
10:33As the storm of criticism continues to swirl around Alejandro Mayorkas, the question remains,
10:40will the Secretary of Homeland Security find a way to address these mounting concerns and
10:45regain control of the narrative?
10:47Or will he continue to be buffeted by the winds of discontent?
10:51The coming weeks and months promise to be crucial, not just for Mayorkas personally,
10:56but for the entire Department of Homeland Security, and indeed, for the security of
11:00the nation as a whole.
11:02As the story unfolds, one thing is certain, the eyes of the nation will remain fixed on
11:07this embattled figure at the center of the storm.
