00:00The Department of Justice said that Mary Jane Veloso could be one of the victims of the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Good Conduct and Time Allowance Law.

00:15Mary Jane Veloso, the convicted OFW in the Philippines, is now home after more than a decade of imprisonment in Indonesia.

00:23The government is one by one laying out the plans for her possible release from prison.

00:29According to the Department of Justice, it is not only Executive Clemency that can be an option for Veloso.

00:35She can also be given parole or pardon.

00:53The Department of Justice explained that Executive Clemency will be given to Veloso based on President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s order.

01:12It is also possible that Veloso will not be the only one to receive it.

01:15The President will also be one of those who will be given clemency.

01:19As for pardon or parole, this is where the new rules under the Good Conduct and Time Allowance Law will be implemented.

01:27The Board of Pardon and Parole and the Bucor will study if she can be released.

01:32As for parole, this is a process wherein after serving a minimum sentence,

01:43the Board of Pardons and Parole can study if she can be released.

01:52This is where the GCPA, the Good Conduct and Time Allowance, will be implemented

01:56because even if your sentence is very long, if you are kind inside,

02:02the time can run and at the same time, you can earn credits.

02:09And because of that, the time you need to serve decreases before you can avail parole.

02:18While deciding on Veloso's release, DOJ said that they will not stop her family from seeing her.

02:25After the five-day quarantine, they will allow Mary Jane to go to the Correctional Institution for Women where she is currently in prison.

02:34She will have a five-day quarantine and after that, on the 24th, they can reunite.

02:41And that is what was discussed earlier that they can visit as a family to reunite for Christmas.

02:50And at the same time, they can visit as often as they want for as long as they will follow the protocols of the Bucor.

02:58DOJ and Bucor are also looking to move the facility of Veloso's illegal recruiter so that she will not be included in the P.E.T.A.
