The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (Motac) will continue to probe into alleged fraud by an unlicensed travel agency run by a Malaysian influencer-entrepreneur and in Seoul, South Korea.
It said appropriate action would be taken against the agency concerned under the Tourism Industry Act 1992 [Act 482].

00:26MOTAC also advised Malaysians who have fallen victim to the agency concerned to file a police
00:31report to facilitate the investigation. They are also advised to make an official complaint
00:36to MOTAC through the Public Complaint Management System. The ministry also advised the public
00:41to purchase travel packages from travel agencies registered with MOTAC to avoid unwanted incidents.
00:49The statement was issued following a viral video in which a woman claimed to be a victim
00:53of fraud by the influencer entrepreneur operating a travel agency in Seoul known as Kim Seri.
01:01The woman claimed she and her tour group were left stranded at the airport as there were
01:05no return flight tickets as promised. They were later informed that there was a technical
01:10issue regarding ticket reservation. The police were also reported to have received five reports
01:16regarding individuals claiming to be victims of fraud in tourist packages handled by an
01:22agency run by the influencer. Kim Seri has issued a public apology and promised to refund
01:29customers affected by issues arising from her South Korea travel packages, pledging
01:34to settle the matter by or before February 1 next year.
