00:00The Justice Department said that it is possible that Mary Jane Veloso could benefit from the revised implementing rules and regulations of the Good Conduct and Time Allowance Law.

00:16Now, Mary Jane Veloso's convicted OFW is back home in the Philippines after more than a decade of imprisonment in Indonesia.

00:24The government is one by one laying out the plans for her possible release from prison.

00:30According to the Department of Justice, it is not only Executive Clemency that can be an option for Veloso.

00:36She can also be given parole or pardon.

00:55And we have a good news in that aspect because we have what is called the Good Conduct Time Allowance.

01:04The Justice Department explained that if Executive Clemency will be given to Veloso, it will be based on the order of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

01:13It is also possible that Veloso will not be the only one who will be given this.

01:16And there will be one more president who will be given clemency.

01:20As for pardon or parole, this is where the new rules will be included under the Good Conduct and Time Allowance Law.

01:27The Board of Pardon and Parole and the Bucor will study if she can be released.

01:33As for parole, this is a process wherein after serving a minimum sentence,

01:44the Board of Pardons and Parole can study if she can be released.

01:53This is where the GCTA, the Good Conduct and Time Allowance, will be included

01:57because even if your sentence is very long, if you are kind inside,

02:03the time can run and at the same time, you can earn credits.

02:10And because of that, the time you need to serve decreases before you can avail parole.

02:19While deciding on the release of Veloso, DOJ said they will not stop her family from seeing her.

02:26After the five-day quarantine, they will be allowed to visit Mary Jane at the Correctional Institution for Women,

02:33where she is currently in prison.

02:35She has a five-day quarantine and after that, on the 24th, they can reunite.

02:42And that is what was discussed earlier, that they can visit as a family to reunite for Christmas.

02:51And at the same time, they can visit as often as they want for as long as they will follow the protocols of the Bucor.

02:59DOJ and Bucor are also looking to transfer the facility to Veloso's illegal recruiter

03:05so that she will not be included in the P.E.T.A.

03:07As for Veloso, they will ensure that she can attend hearings in the Nueva Ecija Court as a witness

03:14up to the case of human trafficking case filed against her recruiter.
