A family narrowly escaped injury when a lorry tyre came off and struck their car on Jalan Jerantut-Maran-Kuantan near the Sungai Salan Bridge on Saturday (Dec 21).

Jerantut police chief Supt Zukri Muhammad said the lorry driver was fined, and the case remains under investigation.

00:16travelling with his wife, 2-year-old daughter and a family friend from Bandar Jengka to

00:21Despite trying to steer away, the tyre hit the front and right side of his car.
00:25He stopped immediately and moved everyone to safety.
00:28The lorry driver, unaware the tyre had detached, did not stop but was intercepted by other
00:34motorists.
00:35Both parties later filed police reports.
00:38Jerantut Police Chief Superintendent Zulkari Mohamad confirmed no injuries occurred, though
00:43the vehicle was damaged.
00:45The lorry driver was fined and the case remains under investigation.
