00:00Michael Pennix Jr. did enough to win this game. The Giants did enough to give the game away in a big way, 34-7.
00:10So I don't know that I can look too much into this just yet, but the Atlanta Falcons somehow, Matt, somehow are back in the driver's seat of that division. Didn't see that coming.
00:18Yeah, they are. And you know, it was interesting yesterday after that game, there was a lot of glowing reports about Pennix.
00:25You know, you look at the numbers, there's really nothing special there. The interception wasn't his fault. That's a ball that should have been caught by Kyle Pitts.
00:31But nonetheless, you look at those numbers, especially against the Giants, you think, well, Kirk Cousins could have done that.
00:37But the reports were very positive. Pennix had more zip on the ball. There was a little more athleticism.
00:43And look, at the end of the day, if the guys are playing a little harder for whatever reason, they trust their quarterback more, they're more inspired by that quarterback, then it's a positive thing.
00:51But playing the Giants, this was kind of a glorified preseason game. That's not to say that the starters weren't playing hard.
00:58I mean, those guys are competing for jobs for the next season and beyond.
01:02But nonetheless, this was sort of the ultimate, you know, dip your toe in the water.
01:07And we'll see how it goes from here for Michael Pennix, because next week they got the commanders in primetime and that's going to be a real game.
01:14And we'll see if the Falcons made the right decision then, or at least we'll get a better idea of it.
01:19And it'll be interesting because he didn't do enough to wow anyone in this game, but he also didn't do enough to say, oh, he needs to go back to the bench.
