00:00The local government of Quezon City has a reminder that the new year is coming soon.

00:06Fireworks display and use of firecrackers in private households in Luzon is now prohibited.

00:20Sheila, it is strictly prohibited by the QC Department of Public Works and Safety

00:26to use firecrackers in private and public areas if there is no permit from their offices.

00:33Based on City Ordinance No. SP-3233 of Luzon,

00:37firecrackers manufacturers are totally banned from their facilities.

00:42For the resellers of firecrackers, they must pass a guideline to be allowed by the agency.

00:49Retired Police Colonel Remigio explained that there are specific places in each barangay in Quezon City

00:55where firecrackers are not allowed in the new year.

00:59People can also apply for a permit if they really want to make fireworks a tradition in their area.

01:06Those who are caught using firecrackers in front of their houses without a permit,

01:10even if they are in a private subdivision, can be fined P3,000.

01:16For those who did not spend money to buy firecrackers,

01:19QC-LGU is inviting their residents to go to the QC Memorial Circle

01:25because they have prepared a program and fireworks display that will please everyone.

01:31According to the Police Colonel,

01:33those below 18 years old who hold firecrackers are strictly prohibited.

01:47The program in the QC Memorial Circle will start at 5 p.m. on the last day of the year.
