00:24When given the chance to become rich and famous,

00:28most people grab it with both hands. Although Quinn had only been in the industry for a short

00:34time, she had witnessed her fair share of glitz and glamour. She had no intention of

00:39settling for her current life if there was a way for her to improve it, especially if

00:45Emma was giving her the opportunity to step over Layla on the way to stardom.

00:50I've got my own axe to grind, Quinn thought. What would I need to do? She asked. I'll need

00:57some time to plan it out properly. Emma responded, let me get back to you. She and Eric talked

01:04through the details, focused on trying to make sure Layla got a taste of her own medicine.

01:09Finding a way to make Quinn a star was a great way to make Layla suffer. It would also stop Quinn

01:16from scheming with her former boss to harm Emma. Meanwhile, payback for Matthew's involvement in

01:23his granddaughter's plans would have to wait until after Emma had given birth. It was too much to do

01:29everything at once. The next morning, Eric asked Luke to find out if Quinn had any hidden talents.

01:37If she did, Kaleidoscope could sign her. If not, they would coach her and go from there.

01:44Luke discovered something that would make it easy to turn Quinn into a star.

01:49She's the typical girl next door. There's nothing exceptional about her looks or her background,

01:55Luke told Eric. But she's a great dancer. If we debuted her as part of a group, she should do

02:01quite well. Good. Ask Louise to make the arrangements and to treat her like anybody else.

02:21We decided to promote Quinn as a way to deflect Layla's attention from Emma,

02:26who in will be like a human shield. Why don't we just deal with Layla directly? Luke asked.

02:33The Green family has a lot of connections, so it would be tricky to try and deal with her head on.

02:40It's best if we take our time and pick them off one by one, Eric replied. Besides, Emma and I

02:47are going to have our hands full pretty soon, no matter how much I want to deal with Layla and

02:52Matthew. Right now, Emma and our family are my priority, he thought. I get it, Luke said,

03:01realizing that Emma's pregnancy and impending delivery were the reasons that Eric and Emma

03:06were taking an unconventional approach to revenge. You must be getting really nervous.

03:12Of course I'm nervous, Eric said. My wife is about to give birth to our first child,

03:17but I'm also beyond excited. For now, just focus on what you need to do. You can set up a meeting

03:24with Joseph Peters from the city's film industry department as well. Are you planning on meeting

03:29him personally? Luke asked. Eric nodded. So Luke left the office to get to work.

03:37His first concern right now was to stop the spread of gossip around Emma. If Layla liked

03:42to compete so much with her fellow stars, she could compete with Quinn. Quinn soon received

03:49a contract from Kaleidoscope, although it stated that she was just a trainee and that they could

03:54drop her at any time. She still relished the opportunity. I can't wait to see how Layla is

04:00going to react when she finds out. Quinn thought her former boss wasn't remaining idle during this

04:05time. She started by filing a lawsuit against Kaleidoscope, requesting the cancellation of her

04:12contract and demanding compensation. She felt confident in her move with the backing of Ralph

04:18and the rest of her family. Meanwhile, Matthew felt like he couldn't ask his daughter to give

04:24up the entertainment industry yet, and he'd not been able to complete his end of the bargain yet.

04:30Knowing how committed he was to keeping his word, Layla played dumb and continued to meet with Ralph

04:36in preparation for signing with his agency after her business with Kaleidoscope was over.

04:42The Lost Relative was eventually re-released in theaters, and even though the commotion

04:47surrounding the film tempered some of the hype, the public was still impressed by Emma's

04:52performance. The box office sales weren't as high as they might have been, but the movie still did

04:57far better than all of the other films that were out at the same time. Layla concluded that her

05:03battle with Emma had resulted in damage being done to both sides. Although she hadn't gained

05:08anything from all of her plotting, Emma hadn't benefited either. What she didn't realize was

05:14that Emma had already planned something to tip the scales in her favor, while Layla and

05:19Kaleidoscope were in the middle of their court battle. Emma had gone to the hospital with

05:24contractions. Luckily, no one alerted the media to her presence there. Eric was deliberately

05:31directing their attention to what was going on in court. Eliza and Susan dropped everything to be by

05:37my side. Both women had been in unhappy relationships, so it was something they quickly

05:43bonded over. Soon enough, they were acting like they'd known each other for years. Emma's brother

05:49Peter also visited. He was looking forward to the arrival of his little nephew or niece,

05:55but nothing seemed to be happening yet. Margot came to the hospital to visit her friend and

06:01dragged John along. After taking one look at Emma, grimacing in pain, they quickly said,

06:08I'm not sure I want kids. After all, who would want to have a child with you? Margot asked,

06:15I just can't bear the thought of you putting yourself through all of that.

06:20John replied while pointing at their pregnant friend. Emma laughed loudly. He hasn't changed

06:26at all, she said. Nope. And there's no hope that he will in the future. Margot responded with a

06:34shrug. Eric rolled his eyes and shooed them out of the room. I don't want you contaminating my

06:40child's perfect genes, he joked. Bridget also visited. She was still quite shy around Eric,

06:47but she now openly referred to him as her older brother. Part of her motivation in doing so was

06:53to make sure that Eric accepted Richard. Episode 714. Finding Redemption

07:00When everything had calmed down, and all of their visitors had left the hospital room,

07:06Emma finally realized just how tired Eric looked. Get some rest, she said. You're going to need all

07:13of your strength for after the birth. I don't want to miss anything. Eric rubbed Emma's hand

07:20against his cheek. You're finally in labor and I feel useless as it is. Emma swallowed the lump in

07:26her throat. You're here by my side. That's enough for now, she said. Hop up on the bed and close

07:34your eyes for a while. I'm afraid of squashing you, Eric replied. Emma laughed. You're not going

07:40to squash me, she said while making room for her husband. If anything, I'm going to squash you.

07:48The media didn't even attempt to get any news about Emma.

07:52Layla tried all sorts of methods to see what was going on, but only those closest to Emma and Eric

07:58knew what was happening. Even those who worked for Kaleidoscope and had some idea that she was in

08:05labor kept their mouths shut. Layla wouldn't give up, so she decided to hire a private investigator.

08:13Having anticipated the lengths people would go to get access to his wife while she gave birth,

08:19Eric had arranged for a security detail to watch over the room. He had made it difficult for anyone

08:24to even get a glimpse of Emma, let alone get worthwhile information about her current state.

08:30Eric found out about the private investigator from the security team when he had the time.

08:36He asked Luke how Quinn was getting on. Her legs are pretty much healed, Luke said. She's been

08:43working really hard and is already starting to find her feet within the group. If we push her

08:48a little more, she should be able to make her debut soon. In that case, it's time to make Layla

08:53suffer, Eric replied. I knew this was coming, Luke thought. I'm on it, he said. Luke knew that Layla's

09:02temper made her predictable. As soon as she heard that Quinn was about to become famous, she would go

09:08crazy. I'm looking forward to this, Luke thought. Layla tried to contact Quinn in all of the usual

09:15ways, but she'd seemingly disappeared. Quinn had moved and was now staying in a small apartment

09:21that Kaleidoscope had rented for her, when she finally made contact via a phone call.

09:27Layla insisted on knowing when Quinn would be well enough to come back as her manager.

09:32Does she really expect me to go back to being her manager? Quinn wondered. I'm not going to

09:38spend the rest of my life getting my hands dirty for her. We should be seeing each other pretty

09:44soon, she said. That's great, Layla replied. I'll be canceling my contract with Kaleidoscope soon, too.

09:52When that goes ahead, we can go back to how things used to be. Quinn rolled her eyes in disgust and

09:59set her phone aside, allowing Layla to reminisce about their past on her own. There's no way I'm

10:05going to run back, too. Layla sighed after everything she let happen to me. I'm looking

10:11forward to the future now. She thought Quinn had already passed many of the tests that Kaleidoscope

10:17had set for her. She might still have a way to go to be the full package, but she knew her dancing

10:24was impressing people. Even the other members of the group had given her the thumbs up when they'd

10:29seen her moves. Are you still there? Layla eventually asked. The reception isn't great.

10:36Gwen yelled while massaging her legs. I forgot you were out of town, Layla replied. We should

10:43talk when you come back. Okay, Quinn said, and then she hung up. I'm glad I don't have to keep

10:50up the pretense for much longer. She thought Quinn knew why Emma had taken her under her wing.

10:56She was currently waiting to give birth, and everyone knew that Layla was trying to figure

11:00out where she was. Quinn was well aware that she was being used to redirect her friend's attention,

11:07even if it means sacrificing my chances of becoming a star.

11:11I owe it to Caitlin and Emma to do this, she thought. Protecting Emma is my only way of

11:18redeeming myself. Quinn's new group was scheduled to make their debut in Los Angeles. This opportunity

11:25would allow the four women to gain popularity and get used to being on stage. Similar groups were

11:31also trying to make it on the West Coast, so they had a chance to see who they were up against.

11:37The day after speaking to Layla, Quinn flew to Los Angeles. The group consisted of four people,

11:44each with their own strengths. At first, the other women had not expected much from Quinn,

11:50but she'd won them over with the quality of her dancing.

11:54Meanwhile, Layla had no idea what was happening right now. All she cared about was winning her

12:00lawsuit against Kaleidoscope. Where are you? Layla asked. The next time, she called Quinn.

12:07I'm in California. When responded, barely hiding her excitement,

12:13she put the phone on speaker so the rest of the group could hear the conversation.

12:17Surprised, Layla paused for a moment. She didn't like the fact that her friend had gone somewhere

12:23without telling her about it first. Why are you there? She asked. I thought getting some sun on

12:29my legs would help to heal up my scars. I replied, it's all thanks to your financial help that I'm

12:36doing so well. When can we meet then? Layla said. Quinn turned to look at the other members of the

12:44group and saw that one was holding up two fingers to signal how long it was until their flight home.

12:51I'll be back in two days, Quinn said. I'll pick you up at the airport. Quinn smiled when she

12:58realized that she had reeled her in. Okay, thanks. After putting down her phone, Quinn looked at the

13:05other members of the group and shrugged. They were aware of what was going on with Layla,

13:10and they found it amusing. When the time comes, just don't embarrass us, one of the women said.

13:18I've disliked Layla ever since she filed that lawsuit against Kaleidoscope. Another commented,

13:24and I like Emma way more than Layla. She was the reason I wanted to sign with Kaleidoscope in the

13:30first place. If you manage to bring Layla down, I'll treat you to dinner at the most expensive

13:36place in New York. As the women continued to chat, they began to wonder if Emma had given birth.

13:43Yet, everyone was anxiously waiting, but Emma's labor didn't seem to be progressing.

13:49The doctor examined her and told her everything was fine. She would just have to wait a little

13:54longer. Eric was having a hard time watching his wife suffer like this.
