00:00The day of Christmas was a happy day for the persons deprived of liberty or PDL.

00:05This is after they were allowed by the Bureau of Corrections to be with their loved ones on Christmas Day.

00:11Earl Tobias of IBC in Balitang Pambansa.

00:17Because of Christmas Day, the Bureau of Corrections allowed our fellow Filipinos in prison

00:23to be with their loved ones for a long time this holiday season.

00:28Explained by Bureau of Corrections Director General Gregorio Catapang Jr.,

00:32being with PDLs, their loved ones, this Christmas and upcoming New Year,

00:39has a positive effect on their rehabilitation.

00:42Also, Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Elizalde Co. promised to organize a Christmas party

00:50for PDLs in Legazpi City Jail, where several games were enjoyed by PDLs

00:56along with grooming services like free massages, haircuts, and nail cleanings.

01:02They also received a grocery package.

01:04They have everything they need.

01:07That's why the theme of the celebration, which is Christmas Day,

01:10is full of hope.

01:11The PDLs really felt it, even though they were inside a cell.

01:17They gave us happiness.

01:19Even though we are prisoners in this cell, we still have the right to be happy.

01:29I am thinking about the upcoming Christmas.

01:32I want to be with my mom and dad.

01:35Because if I have been here for several years,

01:40if I have been living in this facility for several years,

01:44that's also the year that they didn't talk to me.

01:48Even though you are not our real family,

01:51even though you are inside this facility,

01:54you still consider us more than a family.

01:57On the other hand, some of our fellow countrymen

02:00celebrated Christmas because of the shear line.

02:04Because of that, Santa Rosa, Laguna Rep. Dan Fernandez

02:09was able to surround his province

02:11and get help from those affected by the shear line

02:14so that they can still celebrate Christmas.
