00:00The number of days remaining in 2024 is decreasing, but the authorities who are selling illegal fireworks online are increasing.

00:13Aside from that, there are also samples that are being made by a DIY company called BOGA, which is one of the illegal fireworks.

00:22Ryan Leziguez is in the center of the news.

00:25A few days before the new year, PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group stopped their cyber-patrolling to monitor illegal fireworks being sold online.

00:40In fact, PNP-ACG has taken down more than 115 online platforms.

00:47The 56 Facebook pages, more than 50 ex-accounts, one website, and one account in the audio streaming app are included.

00:56Aside from that, more than 200 online platforms are also being monitored by PNP-ACG.

01:03From December 6 to 26, PNP-ACG has already carried out 8 operations against those selling illegal fireworks online.

01:11According to the operations, more than 10 were arrested.

01:15More than 76,000 illegal firecrackers were recovered by the authorities.

01:22But the violation of RA-7183, which regulates the sale, distribution, manufacture and use of firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices, will be faced by the suspects.

01:35In the province of Rizal, more than 400 firecrackers worth P25,000 were destroyed by the police of Rizal PPO and Bureau of Fire Protection.

01:48According to Rizal Police Provincial Director Police Colonel Felipe Maragon, most minors were caught by the firecrackers.

01:58Young people are seeing trending firecrackers made at home on social media websites and apps.

02:07The so-called boga is a type of illegal homemade firecrackers using recyclable materials such as bottles of soft drinks or water, cans of sardines, or polyvinyl pipes or PVC.

02:20Young people are using it. It can be blown up.

02:26This boga is strong because it uses denatured alcohol.

02:32If it explodes, it can be blown up, it can cause injuries such as burning of the skin, bruising, and other related injuries that can be caused.

02:49According to the DOH, most minors are still victims of illegal firecrackers.

02:56The Health Department recommends to avoid using illegal firecrackers because it can cause death if it is too strong or too weak.
