00:00I've got to get your thoughts from Wednesday. The numbers have come across. Viewership,
00:07NBA stacking up against the NFL. Two games in the National Football League, a five-game
00:11slate in the Association. Some of the best basketball that we've seen all week, but it
00:16still wasn't enough. Taking a look at the average viewers here, we had right around
00:21what, 5 million for every NBA game, 24 million on average watching both football games. Is
00:28that a sign of the times? Is it all about the NFL? Does that move the needle just a
00:33little more than what we've seen from the basketball?
00:35Well, we know. I mean, the NFL is king. It always will be here as opposed to the NBA.
00:43But the NBA has done themselves absolutely no favors. Although, I mean, kudos that Golden
00:49State Lakers game was, right, one of the most watched NBA games that we have seen in a very
00:54long time. But, you know, that coincides with the fact that the football games were
00:59both duds and that was the next thing on that day there, Dubs. I think that was the Golden
01:05State Lakers game was on right after that, whatever that was with the Ravens and the
01:11Texans, where a team scored two points the entire game. They actually scored less points
01:16than the Bears did last night, if we can believe that. And so it would make sense that people
01:21are flipping the channel, too, while the game that would be on, which would have been
01:26the Lakers and Golden State. But all things being equal, it's not even close, the NFL
01:31rules over the NBA. And it always will at this point, because the NBA game is getting
01:36worse. And if it wasn't LeBron James on the screen, I don't know how many people would
01:42have hung around and watched that. I don't think the NBA has anything, any clue as to
01:47what they're going to do when LeBron James, who's, what, 40 years old now? How long do
01:51they think he's going to play and draw eyeballs here, Dubs? At some point, they're going to
01:56have to pass the reins to the next face of the league. And the problem is, Dodgick don't
02:02want it. The Joker don't want it. Wemby doesn't want to be. So who's the face of the league
02:07once LeBron steps down? They got a big problem here.
02:11Yeah, it's a good point. It's a similar struggle to Tiger Woods and the PGA Tour. They're still
02:17trying to hold that torch. You've got to get some, some bigger profiles coming into
02:21this thing. Maybe some young superstars. And I guess Anthony Edwards certainly looks like
02:25maybe he could be the one.
