00:00We're also going into week 17 in the National Football League, so let's take a look at the
00:07NFC side of things.
00:08A couple of big contenders, the Eagles up top of the East, we've got the Lions, Falcons
00:13and Rams leading their respective divisions right now, and then you've got in the wildcard
00:18standings the Vikings, Packers, Commanders on the outside looking in, the Seattle Seahawks
00:23and Baker Mayfield in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
00:26Joe, no surprises, the Lions sitting up top there, fantastic record at 13-2, are they
00:33the team to beat coming out of the NFC for you so far?
00:36Well, I mean, look at all those teams in the NFC North, Lions 13-2, Vikings 13-2, Packers
00:4511-4.
00:46So we've got three teams in the NFC North, basically one in the NFC East that can hold
00:52water and then the Rams.
00:54I think the Falcons are a joke.
00:57They might be 500 and make the playoffs, that's how ridiculous that division is.
01:02But if there is, the problem with having three teams from the NFC North means they might
01:07devour one another.
01:09And it's crazy that we got to this point in the season and we've got a couple of 13-win
01:15teams who are going to have to play one another for the possibility of the number one seed
01:21up for grabs next week when the Lions finish up against the Vikings.
01:26The Vikings, in the meantime, have the Packers this week.
01:29The Packers could get their 12th win of the season here.
01:33So there is a lot still to be determined.
01:37And you've got to wonder, you know, who's going to be left standing?
01:40Does it go through Detroit?
01:42Does Minnesota continue its ridiculous trek here to 14, possibly 15 wins on the season?
01:50A lot still to be determined here, unfortunately, in the NFC.
01:53I think the AFC is a lot more clearer, but the NFC, to me, you got any one of those teams,
02:02number one, number three, number five, number six.
02:06I don't think the Commanders can be taken seriously, although they got 10 wins.
02:09I just don't think that defense is championship quality.
02:13But my goodness, it's going to be a fun watch come the NFC playoffs, because any one of
02:19those teams on any given day can beat one another.
02:21That's how crazy it is.
02:22Yeah, and if it started today, we'd have the Commanders going into Philly to take on the
02:27Eagles.
02:28And, Joe, taking a look at the current leaders of each division, that'd be the toughest place
02:33to go on the road.
02:34You know, for Detroit, you've got that dome atmosphere, you're playing on the inside.
02:38That's not so bad.
02:39Out here, SoFi Stadium, if you were to take on the Rams, that's a big thumbs up.
02:43But going into Philly, that'd be a big assignment.
02:45Yeah, no, that is.
02:48I mean, so, I mean, when you look at it, Falcons, and that's another thing you got
02:51to look at, right?
02:52The number one, the number three, the number four, the number five seed, all indoor locations,
02:59right?
03:00All indoor tracks there, which makes it very interesting and advantage to those teams there,
03:05because they're built to win indoors, right?
03:08The Eagles, the Commanders, well, they're kind of built to win outdoors, and the Packers
03:13as well in that crew.
03:14So this is going to be interesting.
03:18Any other season, we'd probably be talking about, I mean, to have two 13-win teams and
03:24an 11-win team out of the same division, the NFC North is kind of crazy when you think
03:29about it here, Dovs.
03:30Yeah, it's pretty impressive, and a couple of these teams have really exceeded the betting
03:36expectations coming in.
03:38And with that, let's bring up the updated odds board.
03:41It's the Lions, it's the shortest price in the NFC, now sitting at plus 170.
03:45The Eagles are plus 310, and the Vikings are plus 550.
03:49Joe, you know, you look at Minnesota, rattled off eight on the bounce, looking to make it
03:54nine, but I feel like they're still being a little disrespected.
03:57Why so?
04:00Listen, the Lions, what makes the Lions so interesting is, A, they've come so close,
04:07right, over the last season or so.
04:10They have decimated injuries on the defensive side of the ball.
04:16You can't lose Aidan Hutchinson, one of the best top three defensive players in a league,
04:21and think that you're going to have the same kind of chance that you do.
04:25However, when you have an offense that can drop 40 on anybody on any given day, it really
04:29doesn't matter if your defense has holes in it, because you are going to outscore anybody
04:34that you play.
04:35You can, and they do it on a regular basis.
04:38So they deserve to be the favorite, but that's the concerning factor with the Lions.
04:44At plus 170, there's some holes on this team, and if the cards fall right, sure, it's going
04:50to be advantaged Lions.
04:52But I've got a ticket on the Packers at 14-1 from earlier in the season here, where I said
04:57the Packers, to me, I like them.
05:01They can finally get it together, and there were some issues with injuries with Jordan
05:05Love early.
05:07The Packers are an interesting team, especially if they can go into Minnesota and win that
05:14game this weekend.
05:15Yeah, the Packers are a very dangerous team here, I think, because again, if it's the
05:21Lions they have to go through, well, who knows them better than their division rival, the
05:26Green Bay Packers?
05:27So it's not like, you know, you'll have to take on a Lions team coming out of a place
05:33that maybe you didn't play them this year, or maybe you haven't had a lot of experience
05:36against them.
05:37If it comes down to the Lions and either the Vikings or the Packers in the NFC Championship,
05:42guess what?
05:43They know each other better than anything.
05:45That should be an amazing situation.
05:47But it could very well be the Eagles, provided this concussion with Jalen Hurts, doves, gets
05:53rectified here at some point, where he's okay, because we already know he's missing this
05:58week's game against the Dallas Cowboys.
