00:00Authorities say it could take days to fully assess the damage from the blaze which has
00:06burnt through so much of the Grampians National Park and the farmlands and residential areas
00:10surrounding it.
00:11There are still firefighters in the park and around it trying to fully contain this blaze.
00:16The conditions have very much settled over the past two days and Forest Fire Management
00:20Victoria says the firefighters are doing what they can to fully contain the fire.
00:25Right now the fire is sitting around 75,000 hectares.
00:30Just over 15,000 hectares of that is in agricultural and residential lands.
00:40The fire weather is positive at the moment.
00:42This is enabling firefighters to be doing an incredible amount of work in trying to
00:48contain the fire.
00:49So what that really means is that they are continuing to build mineral earth breaks and
00:55they're continuing to do burning operations.
00:57Conditions are nothing like what they were on Boxing Day when we saw those really hot
01:01temperatures and strong winds but they are set to climb again early next week, climbing
01:06into the 30s on Monday and Tuesday here in Storle but thankfully no forecast for those
01:12really hot northerly winds that really did the damage on Thursday.
