Kevin Durant and some big NBA names from the past discuss what makes 40-year-old LeBron James so special.
Transcript
00:00I've done nothing but be true to the game, give everything I got to the game, put my heart, my blood, sweat, tears to the game.
00:06I play ball. That's what I do. That's what I live by. And when I do it at the level, I do it at everything else. Take care of yourself.
00:18It is very impressive what he's doing, 40 years old, still being able to play at a high level. You got to give credit where credit is due.
00:25I can remember at like 34, 35, having trouble walking up the steps and knowing that I had to play a game that night.
00:31So with him being able to do that and still being a top five guy in our league is insane.
00:37That just tells you how much he takes care of his body and how serious he is about basketball.
00:41I think as being a prime player at this age and still being productive as he is, that's how special he is.
00:50I think it's amazing considering that I'm 52 and when I was 40, I was like producing notes at a very high level and not playing basketball at that high level.
01:01He's an amazing specimen. He's a beast.
01:05It's hard to argue that he's not, you know, one of the all-time greats that we had in this league. His numbers definitely say that.
01:12The years that he played have said that and the impact that he's had on the game, the NBA game, not just in the States but globally.
01:19You got to tip your heart off to a guy like LeBron for able to, you know, keep his nose clean, stay focused.
01:26The thing about greatness is that you adjust and find ways to continue to be effective and that's what LeBron has done at that age.
01:35You know, he's not running and jumping the same way as he was when he was 25, 26 years old, but he's still jumping pretty high, you know, and running pretty fast.
