Appearance: The male, known as the peacock, is famous for its iridescent blue-green plumage and extravagant tail feathers adorned with eye-catching "eyespots." The female, or peahen, has more subdued colors, typically brown and grey, which provide camouflage.

Tail Display: The peacock's train, which it fans out during courtship displays, is a spectacular array of elongated upper tail coverts that bear colorful eyespots. This display is used to attract females and is one of the most extraordinary displays in the animal kingdom.

Size: Males are larger, averaging 1.8-2.3 meters (5.9-7.5 feet) in length with the train, while females are around 0.95 meters (3.1 feet) long.
