00:00Friends and relatives are now together for the cold welcome of the new year in the City of Pines.

00:23And here in Baguio City, it's already dark and it feels like it's getting colder.

00:28There's more excitement in our hearts as we celebrate the new year here in the summer capital of the Philippines.

00:41This New Year's Eve, there are more tourists in Baguio City.

00:46Most of the hotels and transit homes in the city are almost full according to the Baguio City Tourism Office.

00:52We've seen a full capacity for many of these.

00:55Our total capacity for one night for all of these accommodation establishments can reach up to 80,000.

01:03In the forecast of Baguio LGU, the temperature in Baguio City will reach up to 15 degrees Celsius on the last day of 2024.

01:12Since last night, the streets in the central business district of Baguio City are lively.

01:18There are people shopping, shopping, bonding with family and friends, and food trip.

01:27For many, the Baguio experience is not complete if we're not here in the night market.

01:32The shopkeepers are saving a lot because of the cheap prices.

01:36The additional income of the shopkeepers will reach triple or more during the holiday season.

01:43For my own, I have two jackets and one trouser.

01:57There are a lot of visitors from Christmas until this New Year.

02:01For now, there are no major incidents related to the explosion, according to the Disaster Risk Management Office.

02:17So basically, we haven't had a heavy incident that responded to that.

02:20Earlier this afternoon, Baguio City Police Office had a ceremonial destruction of the explosions that reached almost 5,000.

02:29More than 150 of them were improvised bombs.

02:34We showed that these will be destroyed to discourage our fellowmen.

02:41Other preparations are being made for the upcoming 2025 countdown in Baguio City.

02:52According to the Baguio City Police, the number of PNP personnel deployed in the city will reach 800

02:59to maintain order in welcoming the New Year.

03:03Meanwhile, the fireworks display in Baguio City is not yet ready.

03:08It's already noisy here in Rose Garden, in Bernham Park.

03:11Because the DJ party has already started.
