Doctors at Niloufer Hospital Save Critically Ill Sudanese Baby

Doctors at Niloufer Hospital in Hyderabad successfully treated and revived a critically ill baby boy from Sudan, providing free treatment for a month. The baby, born with severe health complications, including a blood infection, brain infection, and lung issues, was discharged fully recovered on Tuesday.

A Sudanese couple, who traveled to Hyderabad a year ago for IVF treatment at a corporate hospital, welcomed their son a month ago. However, his condition deteriorated immediately after birth. Initially treated in an ICU for six days, the couple ran out of funds and sought help from Niloufer Hospital.

The doctors at Niloufer admitted the baby and provided comprehensive care at no cost. Neonatologist Dr. Swapna confirmed that the baby had made a full recovery. The hospital also arranged food for the parents during their stay.

The baby’s mother, a 43-year-old woman who had experienced five miscarriages before, expressed her gratitude to the doctors, stating that Niloufer gave her a reason to hope again.

Hospital Superintendent Dr. Ravi Kumar and Health and Family Welfare Commissioner RV Karnan praised the medical team for their extraordinary efforts in saving the baby’s life.
