00:00We are still here at the Tondo Medical Center and in these moments,
00:05there are already 24 patients who were shot from December 21.
00:13But most of the victims of this shooting were shot last night,
00:19around 12.30 p.m.
00:21in the middle of the shooting of our countrymen.
00:26Despite the repeated reminders not to shoot,
00:30because you may be shot,
00:32but in accordance with the tradition of our countrymen
00:36to shoot in celebration of the new year,
00:39Pantaboy of Malas,
00:41some of them, these patients,
00:44were rushed to the hospital because they were shot.
00:47It has long been prohibited to use illegal weapons,
00:53such as boga, picolo, and five-star.
00:56But there are still some people who use it,
00:58and this is obviously the reason why they were shot and rushed to the hospital.
01:07From the day we arrived, there were only seven patients,
01:13but it increased to 24,
01:16so the number was increased three times, or more than three times.
01:21So, if we look at the celebration of the new year,
01:26the number of patients who were rushed here,
01:31and the different types of wounds or injuries that were inflicted,
01:40some were inflicted on the wrists,
01:43and some were skinned,
01:45because of the premature explosion of the bombs.
01:51Later, we will know the additional details of each patient,
01:57but from the information provided to us,
01:59up to now, there are still some of these patients
02:03who are still being treated inside the hospital.
02:08When we first arrived here,
02:10we were allowed inside the ER,
02:13or the outpatient area,
02:15which is now part of the emergency room,
02:18which is designated for fireworks-related injuries,
02:23because if they all fit inside the ER,
02:26they will not be able to fit inside
02:28because there are a lot of patients who need to be treated.
02:36This area was made specifically for fireworks.
02:42We can see the different videos of the explosions
02:46that were made here.
02:48Some of the wrists were cut,
02:50some were burned,
02:55some were skinned,
02:58and some were injured while being brought here.
03:02Later, we will know their situation,
03:05if there were any critical injuries,
03:09or if some were sent home after being skinned.
03:14But according to the Department of Health,
03:17the number of explosions since December 22
03:21has already reached 180+.
03:24This is 52% higher compared to the same time last year.
03:30This means that despite the warnings,
03:33it seems that our countrymen are not getting old.
03:36They continue to make fireworks,
03:39and it seems that they don't get old
03:41until they are able to make fireworks themselves
03:43and bring them to the hospital.
03:45Later, we will talk to the Chief Resident
03:49of the Department of Surgery, Dr. Nicolo Bolsecco,
03:53to give us more details about the explosions
03:57that were made here at the Tondo Medical Center,
03:59and how their situation is now,
04:02or if there are any additional explosions.
04:04But as of now, as we can see,
04:06it is quiet and peaceful.
04:08It seems that our countrymen have fallen asleep.
04:12There are no more related firework injuries
04:17in their situation.
04:19But of course, we will continue to be here
04:22for the other patients who can be brought here
04:25to the Tondo Medical Center.
04:26So that is the latest situation.
04:28From Tondo, Manila, back to the studio.
