00:00The apps are built to reward things that have been done and trends that are occurring
00:07But at the same time, the viewers like to see something fresh
00:11What's up? This is Ashna with Narsity and I'm with the awesome pop duo from Toronto, Crash Adams
00:17How's it going guys?
00:18Fantastic! Great to meet you, great to meet you
00:21So I know you go back and forth from Toronto, but you're in Toronto for a couple of days, just a few days before your new song releases
00:36Lucky, how are you guys feeling?
00:38Honestly, we're feeling a little bit lucky
00:40We got to come back for this and see our family
00:43Fantastic, great to be here
00:45So I want to talk about your success with going viral
00:49I mean, you guys have gotten big on YouTube, TikTok, social media is huge for you
00:55For people who are starting off, can you give a couple of tips, like what's your secret sauce?
00:59Those days where you're like, you know what, this video is not good enough, I'm not going to post it
01:02Just post it anyways, because that one time, that moment that I'm talking about right now actually changed our lives
01:07There was a video where we were singing bad and then singing good
01:09We both looked at it and we said, are we really going to post this video?
01:12Posted it, and it ended up going crazy and now we're here
01:16I would also say, do your research
01:19We learned a lot by watching a lot, watching a lot of videos
01:23There's a lot of great resources out there for people who are trying to be successful in the space
01:27And it's not a secret, it's just hard work
01:30Who are your favourite content creators? I know there are so many out there
01:33And there's a lot of influence that you guys have from California too, right?
01:36Well, you know, I really like Selena, Spooky Blue and Call Me Chris
01:39Seriously, big fan
01:42I love that
01:44Honestly, that's definitely our number one
01:48I would say a couple of other great ones is Aerax, another great one as well
01:52Aerax is fantastic, yeah, Aerax is fantastic
01:54I like Mr. Beast a lot as well, I take a lot of inspiration from him
01:57And I know that you guys are out on the streets, you have a lot of videos
02:01I think out in California, kind of singing
02:04And then people are joining along, you know, rapping too
02:07But how much of your content is planned and how much of it is just organic?
02:11I'd say a little more than half is definitely organic
02:14You know, there are some moments where of course we plan it
02:16But that one moment you're speaking about with the rapper, that was...
02:19It just happened
02:21And I'm just as surprised as you are
02:23I think if you're there every day doing it and doing it and doing it
02:27The moments will present themselves
02:29How important is it to follow trends and how important is it to be original?
02:33You know, we did trends in the beginning
02:35But, you know, do things that other people do but just do them better
02:39I would say
02:40I think the apps are built to reward things that have been done
02:46And trends that are occurring
02:48But at the same time, the viewers like to see something fresh
02:53So if you can adapt something and make it your own
02:55I think that's the...
02:56That's the best way
02:57Definitely the best way
02:58Well I think you guys have definitely shown that
03:00I mean, branding, the dapper suits, the red couch
03:03We all want to know what's happening with the red couch these days
03:05It's currently in storage
03:06So not much
03:07It's coming out though
03:08Lucky's coming out
03:09So we're definitely going to be celebrating that
03:12We're actually going to be at Young & Dundas
03:14Making people's day, making them feel lucky
03:15Giving out some stuff and we'll have the couch there as well
03:17Perfect, that's so exciting
03:19Alright, so if you're looking for tips on content creation
