00:00Hundreds, if not thousands, or even more, devotees of the Jesus Nazareno want their

00:06own copies, facsimiles, or replicas of the religious icon and its distinct image.

00:12So each of them trek to Okiapo Church a week or several days before the procession to have

00:17them blessed.

00:19Just like today, where devotees came in droves to have their sanctified, as PTV's Rod Laguzat

00:24reports.

00:30Around 30,000 people and over 8,000 accredited replicas of the Jesus Nazareno received their

00:38blessings in Kiapu Church.

00:40And one week before the actual feast, the situation has already felt festive following

00:44the activity.

00:45This is due to the accompanying drumbeats of the band along with the replicas, where

00:48devotees joyfully join in, making it loud and lively.

00:52This is part of the pre-activities ahead of the annual traslacion.

00:55Aside from the band, there are dancers, fire breathers, and even horses pulling a replica.

01:00Early in the morning, Elena's group arrived at Kiapu for the activity.

01:03She shared that they came all the way from Bukawe, Bulacan because this event is significant

01:08to them as devotees.

01:09For the event, a part of Castle Boulevard near Kiapu Church was closed and blessing

01:28was held at a nearby overpass unlike in previous years when it was done at Plaza Miranda.

01:33According to Rev. Fr. Robert Arellano, spokesperson for Nazareno 2025, the activity is a manifestation

01:40of the devotees' faith.

01:41He explained that they recognize their devotion and the role of the IOS del Nazareno in helping

01:46preparing for the feast.

01:57Unlike previous years when this event would last 2-3 days, this year it was reverted to

02:01just one day due to the lifting of prior restrictions.

02:04Fr. Arellano reminded the devotees to make their celebration of the feast meaningful.

02:23Kiapu Church is in cooperation with the police in prepping for the expected and massive surge

02:28of devotees for the traslacion.

02:29Meanwhile, they are also preparing for the tomorrow's anticipated crowd for the first

02:33Friday liturgical celebration for the year 2025.
